An Australian naturopath who created a skincare range proven to diminish acne spots has created a moisturising face cream that sells out three times a year – and once had a six-week waiting list.

Hillary Wilcox, 24, developed Maaemo Organic after studying a health science degree, quickly realising how combinations of botanicals could be used to treat chronic skin conditions – but they weren’t being widely used in commercial products.  

In 2019 the Hydrating Face Cream ($59.95) sold out three times as customers began hearing about its acne-clearing, scar-healing properties.

Lemon myrtle extract, olive leaf extract and jojoba seed oil work to deeply moisturise the outer epidermis of the skin, while chamomile extract relieves inflammation. 

It’s currently in stock but likely won’t last for long, so it’s worth purchasing a few bottles at a time.

Customers are confirming that they’ve ‘never had better skin’ and the gentle moisturiser has cleared their face of pimples and excess oil.

It has been a labour of love for the organic beauty expert from the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria. 

‘I would research herbs and then search for them in products in stores but I could never find the combination of ingredients that I wanted,’ the health practitioner told FEMAIL previously.

‘These botanical ingredients were so well researched and had great evidence behind them yet all of the skincare products I had in my cupboard where full of toxic ingredients.’

So she developed a cleanser, exfoliant, mist, mask, face cream and serum to help fellow Australians make the switch over to more natural ingredients, without giving up on products that genuinely work.
