A New York woman was rescued by police after plummeting 15 feet into a gap between two buildings while spending time with friends who thought she went home when she disappeared from a party. 

The woman was hanging out with friends at an early morning party in the NoHo neighborhood when they say she suddenly vanished around 4.30am on Sunday morning. 

They thought the woman had decided to go home, but she actually tumbled off a rooftop.

The 36-year-old said she had been walking on the roof of a Mott Street building with friends when a cover unexpectedly gave out and sent her crashing into the gap. 

ABC 7 reports that neighbors inside a nearby building heard the woman’s desperate cries for help and called local authorities to the scene.

The woman was reportedly trapped inside the tight confine for around 30 minutes while Officer Barone and Officer Manel canvassed the area.  

Eventually, the two officers found the woman and emergency crews were able to dislodge her from the gap through a wall on the third floor of the building. 

The woman was taken to Bellevue Hospital to be examined and treated for injuries.
