She accompanied the post with a photograph of the patches to show just how well they had worked at clearing up her skin.

The small, round patches, which she had removed from her skin, were seen to have patches of sebum on them – indicating that they had successfully removed the liquid from the cysts.

The patches are described as ‘transparent Hydrocolloid patches’ that target impurities without drying out the skin.

The product description reads: ‘Individual adhesive patches absorb excess pus and oil minimizing the appearance of blemishes while acting as a protective cover.’

The description adds that the patches can be worn overnight or during the day, as they are said to blend in with skin.

Available from Walmart, they have an impressive 4.5 star rating, as well as more than 20 reviews, many of which are from customers who claim the patches worked wonders for their skin.

‘Also helps me resist popping them. The pic attached shows what the patch looks like when I remove it in the morning,’ they added.

‘These things are actually amazing, and cheap too! I noticed a huge difference when I would wear them overnight,’ another customer wrote. ‘The swelling always would diminish and my blemished would clear up noticeably sooner. 10/10 would recommend!’

Since the Reddit post was shared, more than 100 users have shown interest in the product after seeing how well it worked. Similarly, it has received a 3,000 up-vote.

Many inquired as to how the patches work, while others, who had tried them out, praised the product. Meanwhile, some others informed curious users on how the patches work.

One user, who has evidently tried out the patches, said: ‘Peeling these suckers off in the morning and staring at the gunk it sucked out of my pore is one of many guilty pleasures.’

Another said that they used the patches, however, they ‘never absorbed anything’, which lead to another user explaining how they work.

‘There’s got to be some sort of opening in the skin for it to draw out from. It’s also possible you’re [sic] weren’t sticky enough. I’ve tried one kind that just didn’t seal well enough to crest a good flow,’ the user said.

One user credited the patches with clearing up their skin, saying: ‘I’m not kidding when I say these changed my life.’
