‘I basically eat every two hours and I also eat when I’m hungry but for me what works is eating small meals continually. For some people fasting works but it just doesn’t work for me so this is what I prefer.’

For breakfast, Alex said she has a kiwi fruit, an orange, two egg whites, a protein bar and some peanut butter.

Before lunch, she snacks on some unbuttered popcorn as well as a ‘little handful’ of almonds.

Lunch, Alex’s favourite meal of the day, is a vegetable bowl with quinoa, broccoli, eggs, tomato, half an avocado, cucumber, zucchini, mushrooms and capsicum.

She will have some edamame beans in the afternoon then for dinner another ‘delicious’ veggie bowl this time with quinoa, broccoli, zucchini, mushrooms, peppers, half an avocado and black sesame seeds.

Alex attributes a big factor in her weight loss journey to giving up alcohol.

‘I have had seven weeks of no alcohol and I don’t think I plan to start drinking any time soon because of how phenomenal I feel,’ she explained.

The influencer explained she started slow at the gym at the beginning of her health kick and exercises four or five times a week.

‘I started off slow by doing 15 minutes of running with five minute intervals with ab and leg circuits in between,’ she said.

‘Now I’m in my ninth week and I do 45 minutes of running at various speeds and gradients as well a three leg and ab circuits and stretching to finish.’

Alex has just completed her first half marathon and continues to exercise throughout the week, going to the gym five days, running one day and allowing one rest day.

She recommended people ‘build up’ their strength when starting to go to the gym rather than trying to ‘do it all at once’ at risk of tiring out and giving up easily.

Alex said it’s not just her body and health that has benefitted over the past nine weeks but her daily routine as well.

She said she now wakes up naturally at 6am and finds she is more productive throughout the day.

‘As someone who had an active (eating disorder) when they were a teenager and had a horrible relationship with food and my body growing up, I’m finally at a point where I’m healthy, I’m happy and I actually like the way that I look,’ Alex explained.

‘Everyone’s health journey is different so find something that works for you.’
