Woman reveals man tried to score a date just so he’d have a place to crash but called HER greedy

A bemused singleton branded her rejected date a ‘hobosexual’ after he tried to set-up a date with her just to get a place to crash – yet he accused her of being ‘gimme gimme’.

Jackie Cameron, 38, from Bakersfield in California, shamed her would-be Romeo’s ridiculous messages, after he implied she was a gold-digger when she rejected him for being unemployed and homeless.

The pair had spent a few days texting after meeting on a fishing trip, and ‘Elliott’ -whose real name she didn’t reveal – invited himself over to Jackie’s house to cook her dinner.

When she said that she was busy that evening, he admitted that he needed somewhere to stay for the night.

Jackie shared their exchange on Facebook, and thousands of commenters branded Elliott a ‘hobosexual’ – a person who jumps into relationships just for a place to live.

Jackie claimed Elliott pursued her after they met on a 12-hour deep sea fishing boat trip – with a ticket price of $150 – and they continued texting for the next four days.

And she initially thought he was joking when he tried to invite himself over to her house because he had no place to sleep for the night.

Jackie rejected Elliott on the basis that his life was not ‘stable’, and said she couldn’t ‘take care of him’.

But she was forced to block him after he told her he was the ‘stay-at-home dad type’, and branded her a gold-digger.

‘He was really nice and he was very charming on the boat. He was very sweet about everything and very well-mannered and spoken. He wasn’t pushy or aggressive but he was around,’ Jackie said.

‘If I sat down, he’d be around. But I’m glad I stayed firm, because someone else might have felt sorry for him and let him stay the night.

‘I had never heard of “hobosexual” before. That was a new one for me. It was the first time I’ve ever had a guy approach me like this, for sure. It’s definitely a new one.

‘It felt bad – it did knock my confidence for a bit. It felt like this guy was just hitting on me to have a place to stay and be comfortable.

‘But then I realised that’s more about him than me. He would have done it to anyone. This is literally just the way he lives his life.

‘I feel lucky. I feel fortunate to have spotted it that early, and that he was so forthcoming, because if he hadn’t been I probably would have let him come to my house in a few days.

‘We had already met and chatted in person. [If he had come to my house] we would have had a real problem. He seems like the type that doesn’t really grasp reality.

‘I think if he had come around it would have been a tense situation. It’s probably the safest thing to have not let him ever come over. He doesn’t know where I live, thankfully.’

The messages first start with a flirty offer from Elliott of cooking Jackie dinner, but she politely declined as she was busy with a friend already.

Elliott then said: ‘Let me know if you change your mind. I’m looking for somewhere to sleep tonight.’

Jackie said she was floured by the man's replies and arguments and said she eventually bloke him

When Jackie clarified if he stayed with his parents, he replied that he did but only on nights where his daughter visits him.

He said: ‘I stay anywhere I can. I don’t like staying at my parents, I only stay there so I can give my daughter a good life and she isn’t around any creepers.

‘I don’t have anywhere to stay tonight, that’s why I offered to cook for you lol.

‘I stayed at my friend’s house last night because she was out of town, but I think she comes back tonight and I don’t like to intrude. I’ll probably stay in a motel tonight.’

Jackie was initially sympathetic but decided that the man was not in a place to start a relationship, so called it off – telling him he was not ‘stable’ and she ‘couldn’t take care’ of him.

Jackie said: ‘So like I said before, I’m not looking for a [friends with benefits] thing, and honestly you’re not stable, so I don’t really see a relationship as being a possibility for us.

‘I appreciate your honesty, but I can’t help take care of anyone. I’m sorry your in a tough situation [sic]. We can be friends and I know that isn’t much of what you’re looking for right now.’

Many women argued the man was in fact the greedy one and shouldn't have been asking for the favour

When the man questioned why he wasn’t stable, Jackie said: “I mean, you don’t have anywhere to live and no job. I’m not trying to be a b****.

‘I’m just saying you’re not really in a place to pursue a relationship which is what I’m looking for.’

Elliott then said: ‘You have to have a house and a job to have a relationship? I guess I thought maybe you like me for me not what I could provide you’

‘Such is women. Gimme gimme. I guess I should have been more blunt, that’s my fault.

People on Facebook could not believe Jackie's story and were shocked the man would even try to crash at her place

‘I’m the stay-at-home dad type…if that doesn’t vibe with you I totally get it. No worries.’

Jackie, who is a dog trainer, said: ‘I was really surprised getting these messages that he was saying this stuff. For a while I wondered if he was kidding. I was shocked at what he came out with.

‘When he told me he was the single dad type I blocked him from my phone straight away. I couldn’t handle it anymore.

‘I was trying to be nice to him because where I fish is an open party boat that is open to the public, so I figured I might run into him again,’ she explained.

‘I was trying to be nice so I wouldn’t have an issue on a 12-hour boat trip with some guy I rejected poorly.

‘But I was pretty floored by his responses – and also that he thought I was trying to get something from him.

‘I just wanted him to be able to match what I have going on in my life. Relationships are about complimenting each other and lifting each other up.

‘It’s about both having a good foundation and going on from there.’

Most were shocked by the man’s audacity of commenting on women’s material desires while appearing to seek a date with Jackie to have a place to stay, while others branded him a ‘hobosexual’.

Ericka N Jenkins said: ‘Out here on his hobosexual. Beware ladies.’

Natalie Elizabeth Whittingham said: ‘Gimme gimme – the mating call of the wild Hobosexual.’

Jessica Davis said: ‘Huh?? How is he going to say you’re looking for gimme gimme when he is basically begging for a place to stay. How does that work? Help me understand please.’

Eboni Nash said: ‘WHAT IN THE ENTIRE FAWK IS GOING ON HERE! YOU HAVE KID, NO HOME and NO JOB and GOT the nerves to say women GIMME GIMME.

‘Sir you looking for a place to sleepy tonight. BUM BYE. BYE.’

Meanwhile Tia Shelton said: ‘How the hell does he have an iPhone? Who’s paying his phone bill?’

But not everyone felt sympathy for Jackie’s side of the story, with some claiming that the fact Elliott usually lives with his parents shouldn’t be a reason to reject him.

Nakisha-Jordan Hackett said: ‘He’s a stay at home dad. I don’t see the problem. Most of you women are stay at home mothers’

‘And the single ones…would you be okay if a man told you he didn’t want to see you because you don’t have a job or house?

‘He was honest with you, but you turned him into a joke. I don’t like that. Because you single stay at home mum would be p***ed.’

Freddy G Pasillas said: ‘Lol – you know it easily works the other way around? Right?’

Dennis Martinez said: ‘Meanwhile you degenerate single moms are getting government checks for being BUMS TOO.

‘This dude even offered labour in exchange for a safe place to sleep for night. Y’all th**s post cash app links after doing NOTHING not a damn thing.’
