A woman has been stabbed to death after an argument with a man who is now under police guard.
Police received reports of an altercation between a man and woman in Kassan Gardens, in Endeavour Hills in Melbourne’s south-east at about 7.30am on Tuesday.
The woman was stabbed and died shortly after, while a man and child have been taken to hospital.

Police say the pair are known to each other, with the man in hospital under police guard in a serious condition with upper body injuries.
The child is in a stable condition with minor injuries.
The homicide squad is investigating and detectives are not looking for anyone else.
The street has since been declared a crime scene
The quiet cul-de-sac has since been turned into a crime scene with a woman pictured in tears being consoled by officers.
A brown evidence bag was seen being taken out of a home, the Herald Sun reported.
A middle-aged couple had reportedly moved into the house two years ago.
One neighbour described the street as ‘very quiet’.
