‘She was obviously in a lot of pain… everyone was just saying ‘lie down, lie down, don’t move’,’ witness Jason Richardson told 9 News.

‘It’s amazing she’s alive.’

Neighbours described seeing the out-of-control car ‘cartwheel’ through a fence and into a nearby front yard as the woman lay in serious pain on the ground.

Paramedics quickly loaded the woman onto a stretcher and into a helicopter.

She was airlifted to Royal Melbourne Hospital with serious injuries to her stomach and multiple broken limbs.

Her condition improved from serious to stable by Tuesday night.

It’s understood police are waiting for the young woman’s condition to improve before interviewing her.
