Woman tried to frame her husband with child porn

A woman has been accused of trying to frame her husband after she downloaded child porn on a cell phone and told police he raped a 13-year-old girl.

Cherie Renee Bolton, 33, was arrested in Siloam Springs, Arkansas on Monday for downloading child pornography and filing a false police report. 

Bolton allegedly told police in May last year that her husband had been sexually assaulting the teenager and that she had attacked him when she caught him with the girl. 

She showed police a bruise on her rib cage and also gave authorities three child porn images that she claimed had been downloaded by her husband on a phone he had access to.

Following an investigation, police learned that Bolton’s husband had forced her out of their family home on May 22. 

After examining the phone they found that Bolton had allegedly downloaded the pornographic images two days later.

Bolton initially denied knowing how the images got onto the phone. 

Bolton allegedly told police in May last year that her husband had raped a 13-year-old girl and had downloaded child porn. Her husband was cleared of any wrongdoing

But she allegedly later admitted she was angry with her husband for kicking her out of the home and not letting her see their children.

She allegedly told police she went to a motel after being forced out and used methamphetamine with a man she met on Craigslist. 

Bolton believes she may have downloaded the images while she was staying at the motel. 

Her husband and the 13-year-old girl have both denied that any sexual abuse occurred. 

Bolton is due to face court on March 5.
