Woman unconscious on Perth street ‘was sexually assaulted’

A woman seen lying unconscious by the side of a road at 1.30am claims she was sexually assaulted.

She was later found by police after two women reported seen her motionless on a footpath by Abernathy Road in Belmont, Perth, on Sunday.

The woman then told police she was sexually assaulted and sex assault squad detectives were investigating.

They want to speak to the two women who didn’t leave their contact details when the reported seeing her to officers at Belmont Police Station.

Detectives urged the pair, who were driving a red car, to come forward as they may have information that could help the investigation.

Anyone else who may have information, including drivers with dashcams who were in the area early on Sunday, to come forward.
