A woman disguised with a black wig and glasses is wanted by police for stealing from care homes for elderly and dementia patients in Staffordshire.

Staffordshire Police have issued CCTV images of the female suspect, wanted in connection with the theft of a staff member’s purse at the Rowan Court residential care home in Newcastle-under-Lyme.

The woman is believed to have been dressed in a black wig and dark-rimmed glasses when the incident occurred on June 26 of this year. 

Fraudulent transactions were used with the cards from the stolen purse in nearby Stoke-on-Trent.

The suspect is also wanted for questioning in connection with elderly homes in Bradwell, Derbsyhire, Warrington, Cheshire and elsewhere in Newcastle-under-Lyme.

A Straffordshire Police spokesperson said: ‘We know she wears a black wig and glasses as a disguise but she has a distinctive tattoo on the side of her right hand.

They added: ‘If you can identify this woman or have any information, please phone 101 quoting incident number 192 of 27 June.’
