Woman who ‘duped teenage girl into sex by posing as a boy’ told her mother she wasn’t gay

A woman accused of duping a teenage girl into sex by posing as a boy called George insisted she was ‘not a lesbian’ and didn’t ‘like girls’ after she was confronted over the alleged deception, a court heard today.

After Georgia Bilham’s alleged victim discovered her real identity and branded her ‘one ugly girl’, the 21-year-old apologised to her own mother for making a ‘stupid mistake’ but said it was ‘never meant to go that far’.

The exchange followed a Facebook message which the teenager sent Bilham’s father Peter spelling out how she allegedly learnt she had been tricked after researching her on social media.

Today jurors heard a message Bilham sent her mother, Michelle Fisher, later that day in which she insisted she was ‘not a lesbian’ and ‘got nothing out of it’, adding: ‘I actually don’t like girls’.

In the message, Bilham mentions ‘boxers and socks’ – the alleged victim told the trial she felt a ‘willy-like’ object in ‘George’s’ trousers, but Bilham’s barrister has said she denies using an object to mimic a penis.

She also acknowledged ‘this happened more than once’ without going into further detail on what that meant.

The message – sent on the evening of August 20, 2021 – was in response to one from her mother which read: ‘This is serious. You need to come home now.’

In response, Bilham begins by writing: ‘It was never meant to go that far.’

Bilham – who the court has heard set up a Snapchat account in the name of George Parry – went on to say she had made ‘a stupid mistake’.

‘I didn’t think nothing of it,’ she added, saying she and the alleged victim immediately ‘clicked’.

‘It was just lie after lie, I couldn’t see a way out.

‘We’d always somehow end up speaking.

‘I knew I could have easily have cut it all off.

‘I know myself it was wrong. I wanted it to stop, I wanted to just be me.’

Bilham told her mother she ‘got in way too deep’ and felt ‘trapped’, and that ‘when it came out I was relieved in a way’.

‘I’m not a lesbian, like I’m genuinely not, if that hadn’t have happened I would never go near a girl, I wouldn’t have had the boxers, none of it.’

Bilham wrote ‘I know I f***e*d up mum but I’ll do what I can to make it right’.

‘The boxers and socks you already know the truth behind that,’ she added.

‘I’m not a lesbian like I got nothing out of it and I know this happened more than once but I actually don’t like girls.

‘All I want to do now is make it right and make my life better.

‘I hate myself for what I’ve done and I always will.’

In the message, Bilham – who had earlier been told by her alleged victim that she should be put in a mental institution ‘or drop dead’ – admitted ‘maybe I do need help’.

She concluded: ‘Please help me mum, please forgive me I’m so sorry for everything I’ve done, the money, the lying, things I’ve said, actions I’ve made.

‘I’m sorry for everything and especially putting you through it all. I love you.’

Messages from Georgia Bilham to her mother in full

Michelle Fisher to Georgia Bilham at 9.43pm on August 20, 2021:

This is serious. You need to come home now.

Georgia Bilham:

It was never meant to go that far. I made a stupid mistake and was stupid years ago and made that account.

I didn’t think nothing of it. Me and her since the start clicked.

I know it’s stupid of me but before that we had been messaging and we was closer.

The whole thing wasn’t me (crying emoji) I couldn’t see a way out of it.

It was just lie after lie, I couldn’t see a way out.

We’d always somehow end up speaking.

If I didn’t have feelings I would never have carried on but I can’t deny I didn’t.

I knew I could have easily have cut it all off.

I know myself it was wrong. I wanted it to stop, I wanted to just be me.

I know I should have cut it off but like if I didn’t feel the way I did it would have been a million times more easier The whole situation I just got in way too deep.

I would have just stopped without thinking about it I felt trapped and didn’t see a way out when it came out I was relieved in a way… That isn’t what I want in life.

I never wanted it to go this far mum, please believe me.

I’m not a lesbian like I’m genuinely not if that hadn’t have happened I would never go near a girl I wouldn’t have had the boxers none of it.

I just got too deep into it and I lost control.

The boxers and socks you already know the truth behind that. I just didn’t know how to break it off without being questioned.

I’m not a lesbian like I got nothing out of it and I know this happened more than once but I actually don’t like girls.

I’ll never forgive myself but I’m glad it’s not a secret. I will genuinely do anything to make it right.

I hate myself for what I’ve done and I always will.

I know I f***ed up but I can’t do any of it without you mum.

When I’ve grown up and sorted my head out all I want to do is make it right and repay you and dad.

Please help me mum, please forgive me I’m so sorry for everything I’ve done, the money, the lying, things I’ve said, actions I’ve made.

I’m sorry for everything and especially putting you through it all. I love you.

It came the same day prosecutors alleged Bilham had also used the same deception on a female McDonald’s worker.

Nikita Hughes, 22, was befriended by who she thought was a young man known as ‘Brummie George’ over Snapchat, she told a jury.

After exchanging multiple messages, ‘George’ picked her up from work and took her for a drive, wearing a tracksuit and keeping his hood up the whole time, she said.

But Miss Hughes claims she did not get more than a ‘glimpse’ of ‘his’ face before ‘George’ pushed her away with his arm.

Asked if she believed him to be male or female at the time, she answered: ‘Male.’

Weeks later, Miss Hughes was contacted ‘out of the blue’ by a teenage girl who was in a relationship with ‘George’ and wanted to know more about ‘him’.

Georgia Bilham, 21, is on trial accused of deceiving the teenager into believing she was ‘George’ to trick her into sex.

Rendering the short-sighted teenager ‘essentially blind’ by taking away her glasses, Bilham hid her long, blonde hair under her hood at all times, jurors have been told.

The girl only learnt the truth after her mother became suspicious, and as a result began researching ‘his’ real identity on social media, the trial has heard.

Bilham, from Alpraham, Cheshire, is charged with nine counts of sexual assault and eight counts of assault by penetration, all of which she denies.

Giving evidence today at Chester Crown Court, Miss Hughes said she was contacted by someone called ‘Brummie George’ when she was around 16 years old.

She said ‘George’ told her his mother had died, that he was close to his ‘nan’ and had two dogs. The pair messaged ‘quite a lot’.

In May 2021, she said ‘George’ arranged to pick her up from the McDonald’s where she worked in Abergele, North Wales – the first and only time they met.

Collecting her in ‘his’ car – which she thought was a Ford – they drove to the Great Orme beauty spot near Llandudno, she said.

‘He had his hood up the whole time,’ she said.

‘How much of his face could you see?’ asked Anna Pope, prosecuting.

‘None,’ Miss Hughes answered.

‘I caught a glimpse at one point but then my face got pushed away.’

She confirmed that ‘George’ had used his arm to push her away.

‘Did you understand ‘George’ to be male or female?’ Ms Pope asked.

‘Male,’ she replied.

Miss Hughes said she never heard from ‘George’ again.

Jurors heard that in her witness statement, she said the way ‘George’ behaved was ‘strange’ so she decided she ‘didn’t want to see him again’.

In July of that year she was contacted by the teenage girl who is Bilham’s accuser in this trial.

She wanted to know more about ‘George’.

Miss Hughes replied that they had been ‘mates for years’ but she had ‘only ever met him once’.

The following month, jurors were told the pair exchanged further messages about the teenager’s discovery that ‘George’ was really Georgia Bilham.

Bilham allegedly set up a fake Snapchat profile under the name ‘George Parry’ and began messaging the alleged victim online when she was still at school.

In 2021 they progressed to meeting up for sexual activity in ‘George’s’ car, with Bilham taking away the extremely short-sighted girl’s glasses, leaving her ‘essentially blind’, the court heard.

‘George’ told her he was too afraid to take off his top or even lower the hood because he was working for an Albanian criminal gang.

The trial continues.
