A woman and her sister both broke down in tears after she unveiled her incredibly chic new look following a dramatic makeover on the Today show.
Denise Sharp, 51, from Celina, Texas, was visiting New York City with her sister Robin when she was plucked out of the crowd at the Today plaza on Thursday, becoming one of two women who were chosen for ambush makeovers with celebrity hairstylist Louis Licari and style expert Jill Martin.
The sisters visit the plaza whenever they are in New York City, and Robin couldn’t stop jumping up and down after she found out about Denise’s makeover.

‘She’s my sister and she does everything for me. She’s my BFF,’ Robin proudly told Jill. ‘We come to New York City every Christmas time to enjoy the holiday here before going back home to spend the holiday with family.
‘We’ve been here for many years, and I just love my sister.’
Today anchor Kathie Lee Gifford had to call for tissues before Denise revealed her new look because Robin was already starting to tear up.
While standing outside in the plaza, Denise was bundled up in a puffy winter coat and her long hair in loose waves around her shoulders.

However, she looked like a whole new woman when she confidently stepped on stage after her makeover.
When she first caught sight of her sister, Robin burst into tears and couldn’t stop gushing about how wonderful she looked.
‘Oh my god! You were always so beautiful before, but… Oh my god,’ Robin said.
Her sister’s emotion caused Denise to tear up before she got a chance to check out her transformation for herself, and Kathie Lee encouraged her to stop crying before she turned around to look in the mirror.

Denise held to together, but she was also over come with emotion when she looked at herself for the first time since the makeover.
‘We need more tissues,’ Kathie said, while Louis told Denise: ‘The hope for you today was simple [and] chic, and you are the epitome of that right now.’
Louis explained that Denise was given a face-framing cut, and her hair was dyed red to bring out her complexion.
‘When you color someone’s hair red it should look like it grows out of their head not like they got it from of a bottle, and I think we found that here,’ he said.

Meanwhile, Jill dressed Denise in a flattering, navy blue dress suit, which she noted is a chic alternative to a dress for a cocktail party.
Kathryn Roper, 69, from Enterprise, Alabama, also received a makeover on Thursday while visiting New York City.
The doting mother’s son-in-law is currently deployed in Iraq, and she was treating her daughter and two granddaughters to a trip to Manhattan for Christmas.
However, Kathryn was the one who ended up with a treat after she was chosen for a makeover ahead of her 70th birthday.

Kathryn told Jill that she wanted a whole new look, and when she was asked what she was hoping for, she joked: ‘Uh, a miracle.’
‘I’m about to turn a big zero birthday so I would like a new look to go into the new decade,’ she explained.
When Kathryn’s daughter and granddaughters removed their blindfolds to check out her new look, they were stunned by her incredible appearance.
Today anchor Hoda Kotb insisted that Kathryn looked ‘like a model,’ and she warned her that she was ‘going to freak’ when she saw herself in the mirror.

Hoda and Kathie Lee were particularly taken with Kathryn hair, and Louis explained that her long locks were overwhelming her face before.
A new cut and style helped her face become more prominent, and they also updated her hair color.
‘The color before was nowhere, so I just added more color and highlights and she looks like a million dollars,’ Louis said.
Kathryn’s daughter pointed out that her father usually does her mom’s hair, and they all shared a laugh when Kathryn joked that her husband ‘expects compensation for doing it.’
