- Tracksuit-wearing raiders smashed two sets of doors early on Tuesday morning
- Homeowner, who lives alone, found out what had happened at 8am the next day
- Woman described being ‘terrified’ at thought of two unknown men inside house
A Woman watched in horror as two burglars were caught on pet cam prowling around her home before stealing a laptop, handbag and the keys to her brand new £35,000 Ford Mustang.
The tracksuit-wearing raiders smashed two sets of doors in the early hours of Tuesday morning and propped them open with flower pots as they cast their torches around the kitchen for items to steal.
The homeowner, who lives alone in her Birmingham home, was asleep during the raid but realised what had happened after coming downstairs at 8am the next day. She was ‘terrified’ and devastated that the Mustang – her ‘pride and joy’ – had been taken.

‘I live alone and the thought of two men walking around my house while I was asleep is really frightening,’ she told the Birmingham Mail.
‘I have three cats and I bought a pet cam so I could keep an eye on them while I am at work.
‘My passport was in my handbag and I am due to go away next week – so not only did I lose my car and have my home broken into, I now have the inconvenience of trying to get that replaced before my holiday.’
The thieves escaped in a black sports car, with the registration WE16 HAM. This was later spotted dumped in a housing estate in the Hollywood area, and is being forensically examined.
This burglar was only in the kitchen for a brief few moments before leaving and eventually escaping in a black sports car
Burglar number two: The footage was captured on a pet cam the owner uses to monitor her cats. Police are investigating the incident
West Midlands Police said: ‘Officers are investigating a burglary in Kings Heath, in the early hours of yesterday (18 September).
‘Two men made off with a black Ford Mustang, a laptop and a handbag.
‘The car was recovered yesterday afternoon, but enquiries continue to trace the burglars.’
