Women have better sex with their husbands than one-night stands, a new study has revealed.

It shows women are more likely to attain orgasm and be satisfied with their long-term partners than with a random fling.

Scientists in the US believe it is because sex and love go hand in hand and nothing compares to true romance.

More than 1,000 women aged 18 to 71 were asked about their sex lives in the past year for the study by Florida University.

Women in long-term relationships averaged 15 per cent more orgasms than those who weren’t, according to The Sun.

They also rated their sexual satisfaction as 10 per cent higher than single women. 

The study found that women having sex with committed partners enjoyed the experience much more.

Writing in the Journal of Sex Research, lead scientist Val Wongsomboon said: ‘On average, women experienced greater sexual outcomes in committed sex compared to casual sex.’

Psychotherapist Phillip Hodson, said: ‘Possible explanations are women need more sophisticated touching than just standard intercourse to reach climax.

‘And they have more to lose from insecure relationships should they become pregnant.’
