Women sizes 0 through 26 model the same lingerie

One size does not fit all when it comes to lingerie and that’s why different women – of all shapes and sizes – decided to try on the exact same bra and underwear set while discussing their shopping experiences and their thoughts on wearing lingerie.

The video, published by Glamour, features 15 women ranging in sizes 0 to 26 modeling the same set of intimate apparel and sharing what’s it’s like to go shopping for bras and underwear.

And because the women all have different body shapes, their experiences are vastly different from one another with some women who pay $300 to get their lingerie custom-made because their aren’t a lot of plus-size options and others who prefer to go the cheap lingerie route.

The video starts with the 15 women sharing how they feel being in front of the camera and modeling lingerie.

Cynthia, who wears a size 26 and has a bra size of 56F says she feels ‘horrified’ at the idea of wearing lingerie because the two just ‘don’t mix’.

‘Cynthia and lingerie just don’t mix,’ she says in the video. ‘Sunday is my birthday and I am doing this as a bucket list.’

But she isn’t the only one apprehensive about modeling lingerie because Sara, who wears a size eight and a 34C size bra says she’s nervous as well.

‘I’m a little nervous today I’m not going to lie,’ she says. ‘You’re on a film set and you have a lot of people looking at you and it’s like okay here we are.’

They then discuss why women wear lingerie with Aileen a size 16 and size 38G bra saying women wear lingerie to ‘entice and be like hello come into my boudoir’.

Carly, a size ten and a size 34G bra, says that women wear lingerie to impress the men they’re seeing while Sara says that although her partner can get the benefit from it, she wears lingerie because she wants to.

And Francis, a size 14 and 40G bra size, says that wearing lingerie is a ‘ritual’ for her because when she’s able to put something on that fits and makes her feel sexy and beautiful, she’s able to praise herself for existing and being in this body.

Lingerie taste: The women then reveal the type of lingerie they like and deciphering their bra size

The women then reveal the type of lingerie they feel most comfortable in with some preferring matching sets and others whose lingerie isn’t that different from their ‘everyday’ underwear.

Sara, a size 20 and a size 40I bra, says that she prefers dramatic lingerie because she prefers to show off a lot of skin whereas Shirley, a size two and and size 28C, says she prefers little sports bras because they’re her ‘jam’.

Sara then adds that she feels the most sexy when she’s in lingerie that she can move in and sweat in and just be the ‘most active version of me’.

The conversation then shifts to bra sizes with Meg, a size zero and bra size 28E, saying that her bra size isn’t available in most stores so she has to go for her sister size which is a 32C, which unfortunately doesn’t usually fit quite right.

Lacey, a size four and 30C bra size, adds that she has a very small bust, which makes it hard for her to find a size under a ’30-something A’ and that she prefers a bra with as little padding as possible.

But Ashley, a size 22 and bra size 48D, says she prefers bras with a little bit of a push-up because ‘you want them to sit nice’. She then adds that it is sometimes hard to find bras and underwear that fit properly because not every brand will offer something cute and sexy and still in her size.

Cynthia agrees and admits that she has to get a lot of her bras custom-made and even then, her bras come out leaving her feeling tight and constricted.

‘Just give me a sexy bra for my big boobs,’ Aileen says. ‘I have a full bust and the options are here’s a whole napkin and a strap that is fully a belt.’

She adds: ‘Boy shorts don’t do the jam they’re supposed to do and thongs go too far in there. Let’s get real – when you got big [butt] cheeks you just eat everything so that’s an issue.’

Ann, a size 18 and bra size 40G then admits that this is her first time wearing a bralette because in her opinion, most brands don’t make proper plus-size bralettes.

‘Up until like a year ago, they really didn’t make bralettes in my size,’ Charlotte, a size 24 and bra size 42K, says. ‘Let alone thinking bralettes were for me because I only saw them on smaller sized girls.’

She adds: ‘I have issues with lingerie with the bands around the underwear because I have really thick thighs and they kind of dig in.’

The women then discuss how much they’ve spent on bra and underwear with Lacey who says her cap is $80 or $90 and Ashley who says she spends $60 a bra, which for her is a lot of money.

Shirely says she spends around $120 and Carly spends admits that one time, she spent $150 on a Victoria’s Secret one-piece negligee, which is most likely the most she has spent because she also admits that she has a lot of cheap lingerie.

Caroline, size 12 and 38C bra size, then says she refuses to spend more than $50 on a bra and underwear whereas Cynthia, who gets a lot of her stuff custom-made, has dropped $300 on a bra and panty set in the past.

After, they discuss cheap lingerie with the majority of the women agreeing that it’s something they don’t buy anymore.

Meg says she’s a snob when it comes to cheap lingerie – so much so that she doesn’t even want it in her house and Ann adds that at in this point in her life, she believes that cheap lingerie is simply not ‘worth it’.

And because these women may not have the ‘traditional’ model body they talk about how they lingerie is advertised to them.

‘When I think of a lingerie model, at first, when I was younger I thought hungry – they had to be hungry because they were so small and tiny,’ Cynthia says.

Caroline adds: ‘I think of a tall woman with skeletal frame and boobs who gets to walk a catwalk.’

And Ann even adds that at one point, she avoided lingerie altogether because she was too big to fit the store that she wanted to initially buy them at.

‘I wasn’t intimidated by lingerie stores per say,’ Charlotte says. ‘It wasn’t like this is too sexy it was more like I know I’m not wanted because they don’t sell my size and if I go in there I’m just going to end up smelling some fragrances and picking out a hair tie – I am speechless when it comes to lingerie that is available now in my size.’

And even though the women have different struggles, tastes and experiences when it comes to picking out lingerie, they all agree that it’s not about the lingerie – it’s about making sure you feel confident and owning the body you have.

‘I am aspiring lingerie model because I grew up being told this body was wrong so the moment I realized this body was right, it’s been my mission to put it out there,’ Sara says. And Charlotte adds: ‘Whoever is wearing lingerie is a lingerie model.’
