Woolworths is bringing Christmas cheer to vegans with its new plant-based range so everyone can stay merry throughout the festive day.

While many will be indulging in turkey and puddings drenched in full cream, the supermarket giant has created gluten-free and vegan favourites for the table.

Vegans can enjoy a $12 ‘pea-protein’ plant-based ‘roast’ complete with herbs and spices, cranberry and orange glaze.

Shoppers looking for vegan-friendly and glue-free dessert options will be spoiled for choice.

The chain has launched a range of sweet options, including a vegan chocolate and hazelnut mudcake for $20 and a vegan handmade Christmas pudding made with brandy, fruit and spices for just $14.

Customers can indulge the plant-based 1L tub of coconut cream-based ice creams, which are available in cookies & creme, vanilla bean and chocolate for just $8.

For those looking for gluten-free options, there’s a four-pack fruit mince pies for $6, a four-pack cake slices for $6, a fruit cake for $8, a mini fruit pudding for $2.50, and a chocolate sponge for $2.50.

The gluten-free and vegan products caters for those living with a food allergy or intolerance, as well as the increasing number of Australians who follow a plant-based diet.

‘In the last year alone, we have seen double-digit growth in demand for vegan products and have been working hard to create even more choice and variety for our customers this Christmas,’ Woolworths Director of Fresh Paul Harker said.

‘Whether it’s due to a food allergy or because our customers want to incorporate more plant-based foods into their diet, we want to make it as easy as possible for them to enjoy delicious festive food.’

‘We are pleased to offer our customers more choices than ever to pick up plant-based roasts, mince, burger patties, sausages for their Christmas meals or barbecue from their local Woolworths.’
