Fans of Woolworths’ popular Lion King collectables have hit out at the behaviour of ‘rude’ and ‘pushy’ parents at a wildly popular Ooshies swap event.

Thousands flocked to the Australian supermarket stores nationwide on Saturday to try to complete their sets – but not all were impressed by their experience.

Collectors took to social media claiming parents were ‘barging’ their way to the front of queues and acting dismissively towards young children.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Woolworths for comment.

The negative experiences were shared in a popular Facebook group – and echoed by a handful of other members.

‘Pretty disappointed in the behaviour of some parents at the swap,’ the social media user wrote.

‘A little boy came to swap with me his gold Rafiki for my spirit Mufasa – one of the parents literally barged me out of the way because she needed gold Rafiki.’

The group member added the behaviour of parents was just as bad when children were trying to swap with them.

‘These parents were rude to little kids, straight up saying “you have nothing I want so go away”,’ they wrote.

‘Pretty disgusting the children showed better manners than literal adults.’

One commenter claimed parents were similarly out of order at their store’s swap, and said some would simply take Ooshies without exchanging for them.

‘I would blatantly see parents take my Ooshies. I had lost all my spares, from older people and adults taking them without permission,’ they said.

‘I was excited for the event, but it turned out horrible.’

Another female member of the group even claimed an adult tried to grab her 15-month-old son’s favourite Ooshie from out of his hands the day before the swap.

‘We were in Woolworths doing our grocery shop. I turned my back to grab something off the shelf and turned back to see a grown woman grab it off him,’ they said.

Despite anger by some about the behaviour of adult collectors, others were high in praise for the event run by the retail giant.

‘Thank you for such a successful Ooshie Swap Day at the Engadine (south Sydney) store. I was able to see the smiles on the faces of the little ones when I gave out the rest of my duplicates,’ one woman wrote on Woolworths’ official Facebook page.

Last week, two farmers from Victoria were met with a wave of online criticism after taking to Facebook trying to exchange their rare furry Simba Ooshie for water.

The couple Melissa Kate Portingale and Stephen Black hit back at the social media abuse on Friday morning by cutting up the collectible live on national television.
