Woolworths mocks MAFS Troy Delmege cooking skills

He’s the Married At First Sight star who tried, unsuccessfully to impress bride Ashley Irvin with his cooking skills this week. 

And supermarket chain Woolworths has taken a not-so-subtle dig at Troy Delmege’s ability to plate up a decent pasta.

The ‘Fresh Food People’ took to their Instagram to share a sponsored post that showed a white bowl filled with nothing but mince – much like the pasta-less dish Troy served to Ashley on Monday’s episode.

Extra shade was thrown at the reality hopeful with the words: ‘Pasta A’ La Troy,’ which was augmented with an ‘OK’ emoji.

They also captioned the image with a simple ‘date night?’ and a laughing face emoji.

The ribbing didn’t end there with the retail giant even offering the method on how to construct correct bolognese.

‘How to *properly* make this pasta,,’ they wrote. ‘Step 1: add onion to fry pan. Step 2: Add mince and cook until brown. Step 3: Add pasta sauce whilst mince is in the frypan. Step 4: cook pasta (optional).’

The post was met with a flurry of guffaws with one follower chiming in with: ‘Woolworths roasting Troy has made my Thursday morning so great.’ 

Another offered: ‘still looks better than his and it’s literally a plate of meat and sauce.’ 

Troy, the series ‘oddball’ tried his hand in the kitchen on Monday, and the results left Ashley with a bad taste in her mouth.

When presented with the unappealing dish, Ashley declared: ‘I can say I’ve never had a meal like this in my whole life.’
