‘Woolies at it again… stealing hopes and dreams. Is nothing sacred?’ the shopper captioned the image.

A number of other Reddit users were quick to comment on the post.

‘Take it back and tell them to jam it,’ one said.

‘I have scratched a mozzie bite that has had more red coming out of it than that,’ another added.

One user attempted to explain the lack of flavoured filling.

‘31% by weight, not volume,’ the user wrote.

Since being shared on the online forum the post has received a 90 per cent up vote and more than 40 comments.

A Woolworths spokeswoman told Daily Mail Australia they would be investigating the complaint.

They then followed up the label image with a side by side shot of the doughnut, firstly showing it as it was packaged, then showing it split open
