A Woolworths worker has revealed the supermarket’s biggest secrets about its mud cakes and the astonishing figure of how many are sold each year.
Liam Kirley, who runs the Woolworths TikTok account, posted a video about the store’s popular item on Friday.
Mr Kirley revealed that Australians had enjoyed 20 years of Woolworths’ mud cakes, with the product released in 2001.
The famous mud cakes, which cost $4.50, are available in chocolate, white chocolate, and caramel.
Limited edition flavours of the item have been sold in the past, which included caramelised white chocolate, cookies and cream, chocolate orange and mint chocolate.

‘We sell about 1920 tonnes of mud cakes each year – which is about three Airbus A380s.’
