Australian radio show WSFM’s Jonesy and Amanda triggered the discussion when co-host Brendan ‘Jonesy’ Jones revealed he recently discovered the difference between a shepherd’s and a cottage pie.

The radio host said he was sitting down to eat with his family when his daughter asked whether his ‘shepherd’s pie’ was made with lamb or beef.
‘My daughter came in her true millennial way, as we’re eating it, I said “it’s good shepherd’s pie isn’t it?” and she said “well is it made with lamb or beef?” and I said “it’s made with beef” and she said “well it’s not a shepherd’s pie”,’ he said.
‘I said “what do you mean?”. She said “well shepherd’s pie is made with lamb, that’s why it’s called shepherd’s pie”. A beef one is called a cottage pie. I sat there and thought “beep me, I didn’t know that”.’
A surprised Jonesy asked his daughter where she learned the detail, to which she responded ‘from Gordon Ramsay in one of his Kitchen Nightmare shows’.
His co-host Amanda Keller said her mind was blown when she discovered the little triangle on the petrol gauge indicated which side of the car to access your fuel tank.
‘Ages ago, someone told me what that petrol symbol in your car, next to your little bowser there’s a little arrow that tells you which side your petrol hole is,’ she said.
