Danny Tetley and Brendan Murray were eliminated from X Factor on Saturday night’s ABBA-themed semi-final.
The pair’s bid to make it to the final round of the show was unsuccessful after the public chose to keep Anthony Russell, Dalton Harris, Scarlett Lee, and duo Acacia and Aaliyah in the competition.
Anthony, 28, made a triumphant return to the show after overcoming health woes earlier this week, and gave a powerful performance of Livin’ On A Prayer by Bon Jovi.

Anthony was ecstatic after he became the final aspiring singer to make it through to the next round, as he jumped up in the air and shouted in jubilation.
Danny and Brendan were downcast after they realised that they were not able to make it through to the next round as they hugged their respective mentors.
Brendan gushed that X Factor ‘has been the best experience of my life’ while Danny admitted that he ‘never dreamt [he’d] be here,’ before adding: ‘This has been amazing thank you so much.’
Ayda Field gushed that Danny was her ‘hero’, while Louis Tomlinson praised Brendan for his ‘A++ performance’ as he gushed that he was ‘amazing throughout the competition.’

Anthony revealed on Wednesday that he was ‘going on voice rest’, but managed to pull through with his upbeat performance of the rock classic.
Robbie Williams was keen to give constructive criticism, as he said: ‘You are the people’s champion, but the only thing I would say is that you are so Northern English and I don’t think we’ve seen you sing a song that you should be singing now.’
Ayda agreed, as she added: ‘I mean Anthony I think you know that I absolutely adore you, but I don’t think it’s the right song choice.’

The crowd booed, but she quickly tried to appease the audience by saying: ‘It’s not for me to decide and you know I love you.’
While Simon was brutally honest, as he said: ‘I can feel your nerves tonight, it wasn’t the best vocals but it doesn’t matter.’
Louis gushed that he loved Anthony’s performance because the show ‘needs fun’ before calling him the ‘people’s champion.’

Despite telling fans he was not going to sing this week, an X Factor insider told MailOnline that Anthony was able to sing during an ABBA masterclass with Benny Andersson, and that he was singing at final rehearsals on Friday.

Robbie, who returned to the judging panel after two weeks away, gushed: ‘Dalton you’re like a rhinestone [Michael] Buble, you blew me away mate. You are already a star but you could be an absolute megastar.’
While Simon added: ‘That’s what we call a game-changer, I’ll tell you what, Buble came on stage and sang Cry Me A River, and it was one of the best performances we’ve ever had, and this is on the same level.
‘I have to say something Dalton, Louis, the whole idea of a show like this is to give people like you an opportunity to show what you’re capable of.’

His mentor Ayda added: ‘What i see is a fight in you. The fact that you’re on that stage means that you are a recording artist.’
Robbie gushed: ‘That was incredible. You absolutely killed it, I love you, and I want more Danny Tetley in my life.’

While the music mogul couldn’t help but heap praise on Scarlett, as he said: ‘I want to say this, Scarlett you have been a revelation in every way. The song says every thing about you, and the final wouldn’t be the same without you.’

For the showcase, which celebrated the Swedish pop group, Brendan sang I Have A Dream, while Dalton performed S.O.S, and Anthony sang Name Of The Game.
Scarlett gave a stunning performance as she sang The Winner Takes It All in the joint performance, which mixed the different songs together for one epic sing-a-long by the seven finalists.
Robbie’s duo Acacia and Aaliyah upped the entertainment value with a rap remix of Money, Money, Money, while Danny gave an emotional performance of Thank You For The Music in the original key.
After they finished, Bjorn gushed: ‘Well as you can guess every version of Dancing Queen I’ve heard in my life hasn’t been that brilliant, but it is the ultimate reward for any songwriter to hear his songs being performed at this level.
He then added: ‘I think you’re all so talented and you put your personalities into every song.’
X Factor returns on Sunday November 25 at 8pm on ITV, and the finalists will go head-to-head before one more singer is eliminated.
