Big Brother Australia star Xavier Molyneux is officially joining the Amazon Freevee reboot of beloved Aussie soap, Neighbours.
The confirmation came after Xavier was spotted on set cuddling up to guest star Mischa Barton in May.
The 25-year-old, who competed on Big Brother in 2020, will step into the role of Byron Stone, replacing actor Joe Klocek who previously played the same character.
Xavier also reposted Channel Ten’s news of the recasting on Sunday, featuring a snapshot of him with actress Annie Jones, who portrays his on-screen mother Jane Harris.
‘We’re very excited to announce that Xavier Molyneux will be taking on the role of Byron Stone,’ the post read.

While known for his Big Brother fame, Xavier is no stranger to the acting world.
Prior to this big break, the Sydney paramedic had snagged roles in local theatre.
The exciting news was further cemented when Xavier reposted Ten’s news of the recasting on Sunday, featuring a snapshot of him with Annie Jones, who portrays his on-screen mother Jane Harris
He’s also worked with former Neighbours’ legends Radha Mitchell and Natalie Bassingthwaighte in an upcoming romantic drama, Take My Hand, set to be released later this year.
Sharing his excitement on joining the show in a statement on 10Play, Xavier said, ‘It’s difficult to describe what joining Neighbours has meant to me, having watched it growing up with my sisters pretzeled around our television.
‘It was Simpsons and Neighbours every night without fail,’ he continued.
Xavier rose to fame back in 2020, when he appeared on Channel Seven’s Big Brother
‘It’s been a huge change of pace from working as a Paramedic with NSW Ambulance but I’ve had some great people helping me along the way.’
Neighbours will continue its run in Australia on Network 10, where it has been a staple for over three decades.
For fans in the UK and U.S., the series will be available on Amazon Freevee.
