Yandy is selling a ‘sexy anonymous op-ed’ costume for Halloween

One online retailer has released what might be the newsiest costume of 2018 — literally.

Yandy is known for putting a ‘sexy’ spin on even the most unlikely costumes, from Finding Nemo to pizza — but even with the brand’s known history, they still manage to make headlines every Halloween for their unexpected and timely ideas.

Following 2017’s ‘Fake News’ costume, Yandy has played on the media theme with the latest addition it its site: a sexy anonymous op-ed costume.

That’s REALLY reaching! Online retailer Yandy is selling a ‘sexy anonymous op-ed’ costume

The costume consists of a very skimpy, tight dress covered in newsprint

Right at the center, over the chest, is a giant red question mark

Super newsworthy: The costume consists of a very skimpy, tight dress covered in newsprint. Right at the center, over the chest, is a giant red question mark

The $49.95 also comes with a pair of funny disguise glasses featuring a fake nose to hide your identity

'Psst! We've got national tea to spill!' reads the description

Guess who?! The $49.95 also comes with a pair of funny disguise glasses featuring a fake nose to hide your identity

The costume made its debut on the site just weeks after a senior official in the Trump administration wrote an anonymous op-ed for the New York Times, which claimed that ‘many of the senior officials in [Trump’s] administration are working diligently from within to frustrate parts of his agenda and his worst inclinations’.

The insider critic — whose identity the Times has kept secret because the staff believes it ‘is the only way to deliver an important perspective to our readers’ — went on to charge that Trump ‘shows little affinity for ideals long espoused by conservatives’.

Last year, the site debuted a 'Fake News' costume, which is still available for a sale price of $38.98

Quite similar to the new dress, it's also short, tight, and low-cut, and covered with newsprint. Instead of a red question mark, it says 'FAKE' across the front

The person also wrote that the president’s ‘impulses are generally anti-trade and anti-democratic,’ that any success on part of the administration has been in spite of him, and complained of his ‘erratic behavior’ — before revealing there is talk within the cabinet of invoking the 25th Amendment to remove him from office.

It caused much of a stir, including harsh words from Trump himself, who slammed the piece and called it ‘very unfair to the country’. Many members of his administration came forward to deny that they had written it.

And now, Yandy is offering news-conscious shoppers (who also want to look sexy) the change to dress not as the mystery author, but the op-ed itself this Halloween.

The costume appears to have popped up on the site over a week ago, meaning Yandy had it up within two weeks of the op-ed being published.
