Yobs taunt cancer-survivor grandmother, 69, and call her a DOG in foul-mouthed Snapchat video

Police are probing a ‘sickening’ clip in which a gran is allegedly abused on Snapchat by teenage yobs.

While waiting for a bus, the pensioner – a cancer-survivor – is sworn at in a clip before the boys liken her to a dog.

The victim had left her home for just the second time in 10 months having been in hospital.

‘I hadn’t done anything wrong to them and they treat me like that – I felt a bit sick,’ said the victim, who asked not to be named.

She had asked the boys for the bus times only for them to turn on her.

And Wednesday’s incident has shattered her trust in Britain’s youth.

‘Kids today are terrible – they have no respect for people,’ she added.

‘I’d hate to think my children would go on like that but I know they wouldn’t.

‘You just can’t go around treating people like that.’

Over 275,000 people viewed footage filmed at the Luke’s Lane shelter after Geordie comedian Robin Armstrong shared it on Facebook.

Some called for her abusers to have ‘their mouths washed out’. Another said they should undertake ‘mandatory national service’ to learn respect.

‘If they were my children I’d drag them around to the victim’s house to apologise and make them work in the garden for six months,’ said her son.

He admits he can’t bring himself to watch the 45 second clip, adding his mum was ‘shaken up’.

‘She’s a lovely, quiet lady so where do kids get off these days by doing this?,’ he fumed.

‘I was telling my partner today, once upon a time if a ball went into someone’s garden you would politely ask for it back.

‘But kids are going around swearing and doing this with no respect – they are a nightmare.

‘She was so proud to go back on the bus for the first time – she rang me and said ‘guess where I am’.

‘She was so pleased with herself, then she went out yesterday and this happened.’

‘We will not let her out now because of this – she could have fallen over to get away and fractured her hip, and you don’t know what the consequences could have been.

‘But you just think of these kids, ‘how were you brought up?’.’

He’s thanked Robin Armstrong for publishing the clip to his 700,000 followers.

But the Facebook funny man didn’t find the clip a laughing matter.

‘Abusing a nana is the ultimate no – they are the heart of a family,’ he said.

‘To hear her being called a dog and on the phone to her family, she’s worried – it is just sickening.

‘I was in total disbelief – I couldn’t believe the kids would do it.

‘I wish I was there to have sorted it

‘As soon as I got the clip I wanted to get it up there and find out who they are.’

Northumbria Police want to do the same thing.

‘We are aware of footage circulating on social media regarding an incident in Hebburn,’ said a force spokesperson.

‘At around 6pm yesterday police received a report of anti-social behaviour on Lukes Lane. Officers are now looking to trace the offenders involved.

‘We would encourage people not to share these videos on social media to protect the victim and would advise any footage to be sent to police to assist with the ongoing investigation.

‘Anyone with more information should contact police at 101 quoting reference 1001 200618.’
