Yodel customer, 35, is left fuming after delivery driver dumps £60 order of fresh food in a filthy BIN she uses to dispose of her dog’s mess
- Carla Quirk found her Musclefood order at the bottom of her outdoor bin
- 35-year-old from Workington, Cumbria, was forced to upend the bin to retrieve it
- Yodel driver threw food package in the bin because no neighbours were home
A customer has been left incensed after a Yodel driver dumped her £60 order of fresh food inside a bin.
Carla Quirk returned home to find her Musclefood order at the bottom of the same bin she uses to dispose of her dog’s waste.
The 35-year-old from Workington, Cumbria, was forced to upend the bin to remove the package of meat and ready meals, which she said ended up covered in ‘bin juice’.

The Yodel driver justified his choice of safe place on the basis no neighbours were home to accept the package.
Ms Quirk arrived home on Friday to find a Yodel card with the note: ‘In bin as no neighbours answered.’
Ms Quirk took to social media to express her outrage.
She shared the image on Facebook with the caption: ‘Ah yeah cheers yodel just whack my muscle food order in the bin if I’m not in.’

Fellow social media users reacted with outrage to her post.
Siobhan Bridge: ‘Oh my word. That is disgusting! I’d definitely complain.’
Speaking today, Ms Quirk added: ‘I couldn’t get it out, I literally had to turn the bin upside down, all the bin juice was all over it.
‘I put my dog poop in that bin, I wouldn’t want my food in there. It makes me feel like I wouldn’t want them to deliver anything ever again.’
Carl Moore, chief operations officer at Yodel, said: ‘The safe delivery of parcels is our priority and we have been in touch with Mr Quirk to apologise for the service he received on this occasion.
‘Due to the perishable nature of this delivery, the parcel needed to be delivered on the day and when no one answered at the recipient’s address or neighbouring houses, the driver tried to find a safe place to leave the parcel. Clearly a wheelie bin is not appropriate and we are taking measures to ensure this doesn’t happen again.
‘We work closely with our retail clients and encourage them to give customers the opportunity to advise us where they would like their deliveries left if they are not in to receive them.’
