Younes Bendjima ‘attack victim planning to sue Drake and Odell Beckham Jr’

The man attacked by Younes Bendjima claims he is going to sue Drake and Odell Beckham Jr as he believes they are ‘responsible’ for the attack because a member of their security allegedly took part in the fight, reports TMZ.

The victim, named as Bennett Sipes, has reportedly recruited a lawyer as he believes the rapper and American footballer are ‘responsible for the attack’, which took place at Delilah’s in West Hollywood on March 24 and was shown in footage obtained by TMZ.

Drake and Odell were part of the group that left via the back door when the encounter occurred.

Group: NFL star Odell Beckham Jr., 25, (L) and rapper Drake, 31, were also part of the group who left through the back door of the club when the encounter occurred

Sipes’ lawyer, Colin Jones of the Wilshire Law Firm told the website Sipes and other witnesses informed him his client’s partner, model Sommer Ray, was speaking to Odell in the VIP area of the club.

Although the sequence of events is unclear, Jones alleges words were exchanged but the altercation was not physical at that point.

At around 2.30am Drake, Odell and their entourage left the venue via the back door. Sipes then appeared and reportedly said something, before Younes began punching him, and was allegedly joined by another male.

Jones is said to believe the other attacker was a member of Drake or Odell’s security team, which would give them responsibility for the man’s actions.

Sources close to the group alleged to the website that Sipes was the instigator in the VIP area and provoked them as they left, while maintaining that Drake and Odell had nothing to do with the attack.

There is no suggestion Drake or Odell Beckham Jr were involved in the fight.

Jones also told the website he did not know Younes was the person who punched Sipes first, and only after seeing the video of the attack, committed to a lawsuit,

He also said Sipes is still going though physical therapy, five months after the attack.

TMZ previously reported Sipes had filed a police report to the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department, but the case had since been closed due to him being uncooperative.

The shocking video of the attack was released on Thursday by TMZ and showed  25-year-old fashion model Younes seen punching the employee of Delilah’s.

Drake and Odell were among the group who left through the back door of the club when the encounter occurred.

In the video, the employee is seen opening the back door from the alley as words are exchanged and Bendjima delivers four punches to the employee’s head.

Another member of the entourage joins in with his own punches as the victim appears to fall down.

Bendjima grabs the victim by the hair and continues to punch him.

Beckham Jr can be seen watching the attack happen a few feet back behind the group of men.

At the end of the video, Drake can be seen walking up behind Beckham Jr., look towards the attack, and turn around back into the club.

A source told TMZ that the employee ‘talked smack’ to the group after he opened the back door to the alley.

Law enforcement told TMZ that the employee filed a police report but ended up not pursuing the matter.

Bendjima was born in Lyon, France – where his father ran a traditional Algerian restaurant – before moving to the United States where he studied boxing.

He made his modeling debut for Givenchy while walking in Riccardo Tisci’s men’s runway show in the spring of 2013.
