New video shows Young Liberal leader using racial slurs against Chinese people – hours after another clip about Aboriginal culture sparked outrage

  • He was recorded imitating President Trump on the Great Wall of China in 2018
  • He is accused of allowing other party volunteers to mock indigenous people
  • The footage has sparked outrage after being shared in social media this week

New footage has emerged of the Young Liberals chairman mocking Chinese people, hours after he was linked to a racist video about Aboriginal culture.

Gold Coast Young Liberal National Party chairman Barclay McGain visited the Great Wall of China in January 2018, where he was filmed mocking U.S President Donald Trump.

‘I promise I won’t grab them by the p*ssy,’ he said in the video, which was posted to Trump Talks YouTube Channel, as dozens of Asian people stood within earshot.

‘We’re going to build the greatest wall, it is going to be to keep out the Mexicans, not the Mongolians, or the chikedy chongs, not Genghis Khan bing bong, bing bong.’

‘I love China but I love Trump more.’

This afternoon, the LNP President’s Committee suspended three members, a spokesman told Daily Mail Australia.

The members will be investigated by the party’s Disputes Committee.

The investigation comes after Mr McGain and his vice-chairman Patrick Riches asked a group of young men at Schoolies in Surfers Paradise their views on political issues.

One of the Schoolies, LNP volunteer Jake Scott, was critical of Aboriginal Australians during the recorded conversation, which was later uploaded online.

‘I’m fed up with having all these sports stars stand up on our stages and not sing the national anthem,’ Mr Scott said.

‘They’re putting our Australian jumper on, they’re going to sing the anthem. We’ve got to stop celebrating a culture that couldn’t invent the bloody wheel for God sake.

‘We’ve got to start enjoying and living in western culture.’

The Gold Coast Young LNP deleted their Facebook page in response to the backlash, but, the footage is already being shared across social media.

Indigenous Environment Minister Leeanne Enoch called the footage ‘disturbing’.

A spokesman from the LNP told Daily Mail Australia they became aware of the post on the Gold Coast YLNP’s Facebook page on Monday afternoon.

‘The post was removed and the members involved will be subject to the LNP’s internal disciplinary process.

‘All LNP members are expected to uphold the values of the Party at all times.

‘The Liberal National Party, as well as its predecessor parties, have proudly embraced the history and culture of Indigenous Australians, and advanced more than any other party Indigenous representation in the Australian Parliament.’

Mr McGain refused to comment when approached by Daily Mail Australia.
