Young mum, 26, who used to gorge on fast food five times a week shared how she dropped 25kg

An Australian mum who weighed 108.5kg has revealed how she shed 25kg in five months.

Rebecca Vosper, 26, started her weight loss journey in July and said her starting weight was the heaviest she has ever been.

Doctors told Rebecca she should lose weight, otherwise her health would suffer terribly in a few years.

‘I felt so uncomfortable in my own skin and didn’t like what I saw when I looked in the mirror, so I decided it was time for a serious change,’ she told FEMAIL.

Prior to losing weight, Rebecca admitted she used to eat fast food up to five times a week with her partner because it was ‘convenient’ and never exercised.

Rebecca said she wasn’t prepared for the changes her body was going to go through while being pregnant and gained an additional 15 kilos on top of the baby weight.

‘Since I’m from Western Australia but was living in South Australia at the time, I missed family and friends and turned to food for comfort,’ she said.

‘After that I just spiralled out of control and was always craving sugar and fatty food.’

Rebecca said she never used to eat sugary food, such as chocolate and ice cream, but while pregnant she craved it constantly.

As a result of overeating, Rebecca became prediabetic and already suffers from endometriosis and polycystic ovaries.

She also noticed other side effects including painful acne, stomach pains and the growth of facial hair.

‘I had tried dieting previously but I needed to make some serious quick changes to get my health back on track,’ she said.

To fast-track her health and weight loss, Rebecca had gastric sleeve surgery on August 13 – a process that involves removing a portion of the stomach.

‘The doctors weren’t confident that I would lose the weight through diet and exercise alone and said I needed to have the surgery,’ she said.

‘It wasn’t something I had considered before, but I thought it was necessary to help me lose the weight quickly.’

While some may consider having surgery as an ‘easy option’ to lose weight, Rebecca is on a strict low-calorie diet and the operation simply limits how much she can eat.

‘We never eat fast food anymore and only buy nutritious, healthy food from the supermarket,’ she said.

To lose the weight, Rebecca didn’t join a gym but increased her cardio by going for long walks on the beach or at the park with her son and partner.

After five months she has managed to drop from a size 24 to a size 16 and weighs 83kg.

She’s very proud of what she has achieved and plans to continue living her life healthy lifestyle.

‘It feels good knowing eating well will keep me and my family healthy,’ she said.
