YouTuber Lisa Eldridge launches lipstick range

She’s worked with the likes of Kate Winslet and Cindy Crawford – as well as models of the moment Bella Hadid and Kendall Jenner – and has amassed over 1.8 million YouTube followers from her beauty tutorials along the way – so it’s surprising that talented make up artist Lisa Eldridge hasn’t yet released her own beauty product range.

But that’s all about to change from November 19. The UK based beauty Vlogger teased her 22.4k Twitter followers on Wednesday that ‘something is coming’ – and that time has nearly arrived.

The industry veteran has been hard at work on her debut beauty range – a trio of limited-edition ‘velvet’ red lipsticks priced at £26.

Make up artist to the stars, Lisa Eldridge , has announced she will be debuting her first solo venture with a limited edition range of three red lipsticks – just in time for Christmas!

A successful author, Lisa published her first book, ‘Face Paint: The Story of Makeup’, which quickly became a New York Times bestseller, back in October 2015. Since then, she’s released her much sought after vintage inspired jewellery collection of coloured gemstone rings – emulating her timeless and classic taste.

Her cruelty-free lipsticks, which have ‘a true velvet textured finish on the bullet,’ come in three crimson tones – Velvet Morning (a bright, coral red), Velvet Jazz (a brick red) and Velvet Ribbon (a blue-tinted classic red)

Not only are they innovative in their visual design, the lightweight formulation gives a saturated colour in one swipe and gives ‘all-day long-lasting results without drying the lips.’

With the product’s intense pigmentation, the makeup artist, who has been in the industry for an impressive 25 years, has recommended that it’s directly applied from the bullet for a ‘vibrant, velvet finish’ or patting it onto lips with fingertips for ‘a painterly stained look.’

And like Lisa herself, the packaging is timelessly chic – a simple sleek gold casing engraved with her signature logo. Available exclusively on her website, the lipsticks will be sold individually for £26 or as a set with a black velvet pouch for £75, and will be available globally.

Believe it or not, the idea for the solo venture came to Lisa in a dream: ‘I often dream about makeup and I dreamt about this product several years ago,’ said the internationally renowned make up artist.

‘I did a shoot a few years ago where I stuck actual red velvet onto a model’s lips. It was a fun shoot but not very comfortable for the model!’

Described as a ‘visual feast’ and ‘suitable for all skintones’, why did Lisa choose a trio of sumptuous modern reds?

‘It’s the OG make-up colour and red lipstick in particular symbolises sass, defiance, femininity, power and vitality to me,’ she told Vogue magazine.

‘If I ever need a confidence boost or pick-me-up it’s the first thing I reach for. I also believe there’s a red for everyone. In this particular case I thought that red and the velvet finish is such a heavenly duo… think of sumptuous vintage theatre chairs and the heavy drapery of Hollywood starlets’ gowns.’

And as Lisa pointed out on Twitter, she followed a fairly simple brief when formulating her new range.

‘I always loved the quote by surrealist writer and poet, Andre Breton “Objects seen in dreams should be manufactured and put on sale,’ she explained. ‘I really wanted to launch with something which was a collectible one off, something different…and these incredible lipsticks are just that.’
