Zara Tindall attends Cheltenham Festival Trial at the racecourse

Zara Tindall proved her fashion prowess once again when stepping out at Cheltenham Racecourse today.

Princess Anne’s daughter, 41, cut a chic figure in a check coat, teamed with a patterned headband and black knee-high boots, as she attended the annual Festival Trials Day.

Today marks the final race meet before the prestigious four-day Cheltenham Festival in March, where horses, owners and trainers bid to become the Festival winner.

The royal, who is married to ex-rugby star Mike Tindall, donned a minimal make-up look as she kept her blonde tresses in a loose, straight style.

Her visit today comes after her and her husband, 44, were pictured beaming against a backdrop of bright blue skies at Saalbach in Austria during a ski trip together, in photos posted on Mike’s Instagram account.

Sharing the holiday snaps, Mike wrote: ‘Amazing couple of days skiing in Saalbach,  great hospitality with fantastic people! Maybe a charity event in the pipeline??’

Their trip to the Alps comes after the pair were caught larking about down under at the Magic Millions charity event in Australia earlier this month while their royal relatives at home were left reeling from the fallout of Prince Harry’s memoir Spare.

Mike’s post shared a series of photos from his holiday which included a group snap of himself and Zara around a table while enjoying drinks, as well as a sweet selfie of the couple at the top of one of the slopes.

Mother-of-three Zara beamed in her reflective goggles and a purple ski jacket while carrying a rucksack.

One of the guests who joined the royal couple at lunch was Alexandra Meissnitzer, a now-retired alpine ski racer who has won three Olympic medals.

The couple’s trip away comes after the first episode of the I’m a Celebrity star’s new podcast series, Mike Drop, was released and featured an interview between the couple with Zara in the hot seat.

At several points in the interview, Zara became emotional as her husband tapped into sensitive subjects, including how she suffers from ‘mum guilt’.

Earlier this month, Mike Tindall posted a sweet selfie of himself with his wife Zara as they took to the ski slopes in Saalbach, Austria, for a short trip away

She explained she found it difficult returning to riding after having her children, Mia, eight, Lena, five, and Lucas, 18-months, saying: ‘I found it hard getting myself back to it. Mentally, you feel guilty as a mother leaving your child to go and do something else.’

In the wide-ranging interview, she revealed how, after having her eldest daughter Mia in 2014, she was determined to return to riding.

She told Mike: ‘After having Mia, I felt like my goal was to get back on a horse, I want to get back.

‘I had a good horse to come back to for your confidence and trying to – I wanted to get back for him as well. Trying to have a goal is probably something I always need. I always need goals in my life and set many goals in my life all the time.’

However she said she had struggled, saying: ‘It was hard getting your body back when you’ve been riding for 25 years, and then your body is just completely not doing that.

‘Your muscles [are] doing nothing and stretching and creating an amazing thing but it’s completely different. Trying to get your body back to where it was, I found, was hard work.’

Meanwhile she acknowledged how the couple had balanced Zara’s career with life as new parents, adding: ‘Mia was along for the ride with us as well. She was very much taken around to the shows – it was easier when we had one.’
