Further pieces of advice include having date nights and getting away together to have adventures and try new things.

She also advocates leaving smart phones in another room for an hour a night, so that there are no distractions.

Other suggestions are a ‘no rules night’ when everyone in the family can relax and do as they please, as well as surprising one another with thoughtful gestures.
