Zoe Tyler sings about her husband’s bad jokes and getting sick of his face while glugging wine

Former Loose Women star Zoe Tyler has delighted fans after posting a video singing a song she wrote about how her husband is driving her crazy in lockdown.

The vocal coach, 49, said she spent ‘hours’ penning an hilarious song to the tune of Sonny and Cher’s I Got You Babe before belting out the tune while glugging wine in bed.

Zoe, who is in lockdown at her Florida home with her son and husband, bemoans being stuck inside with Angus Kindley, 57, as there is ‘no escape’ from ‘looking at that face’ and his ‘sh** jokes’ and is even considering going to live in the car.

The West End star, originally from Essex, said the breaking point came in their kitchen on Saturday when Angus began chomping noisily on a packet of crisps, much to the annoyance of his wife of eight years.

After scolding him for ‘crunching so loud’, mum-of-one Zoe was forced to leave the room as her anger quietly simmered – but resolved to discreetly vent her frustrations in the form of a song later that night.

She said: ‘He was eating a bag of crisps, crunching, and I said to him, “Oh my god, why are you crunching so loud? You are irritating me. Stop crunching so loud”.

‘I had to leave and go and sit in the other room.

‘I thought, “I need to write a song about this”. It took a good few hours.

‘I penned it while we were sat watching the TV because I got bored of what we were watching, then at about 10pm Angus said he was off to bed.

Lyric to Zoe’s song, to the tune of I Got You Babe

We’re stuck inside day in, day out. Each morning I can’t seem to work it out,

No work at all, can’t leave this place,

All day with you – I’m looking at that face.

Babe, I got you babe, I got you babe,

No time apart, no escape from you,

Another week and I can’t tell what I’ll do.

I can’t escape your constant wit, you eat too loud and all your jokes are s**t.

Babe, I got you babe, I got you babe.

I’ve got wine, to see me through. I’ve got films – and Netflix too,

And when I say, you’re too loud, keep your six-feet and don’t make a sound.

Give me a shed or a place outside – somewhere that I can breathe or run and hide.

But that’s a dream, so here we are, I think I’ll go and live inside my car.

Babe, I got you babe. I got you babe. I got you babe.

I got you too close to me, I only want to be set free,

The time I used to watch my shows, now all I do is wash your clothes,

Facial hair and a broken nail – I’d even spend one night in jail.

I’ve baked, I’ve walked the dog all day, now even she has run away.

Babe, I got You babe. I’ve got you, babe.

I’ve got you babe, I’ve got you babe, I’ve got you babe.

I’ve got you babe, I’ve got you babe, I’ve got you babe.

‘I asked “can I just sing you something?” He was really shocked. He didn’t have any clue I was doing it. He’d been asking if I was watching the programme.

‘He thought it was funny – he’s used to me. I tell him he irritates me most of the time – [even] without the coronavirus.

‘He’s great fun and used to it. I probably won’t do another one about him next time though.

‘I’ll probably do one about how much I miss my stilettos, to be honest, and going out. I’m beginning to think should I just pop the stilettos and a fancy dress on, just to remember how it felt.’

It’s not just poor Angus who bears the brunt of her wrath though, as Zoe uses Cher’s 1965 hit to rant about broken nails and how all she has is wine, dog walking and Netflix to occupy her.

The tongue-in-cheek clip has so far attracted more than 1,800 views on YouTube – and has been retweeted by her long-time friend Denise Welch.

Zoe had been on the phone to her sister-in-law on Friday night, when she sent her a parody of Adele’s number one single ‘Hello’ and encouraged her to make her own.

The day after she penned her song and on Sunday, filmed it from the couple’s bed – much to the embarrassment of her teenage son Jake.

Zoe said: ‘Sunday was a day of laughs for us in our house making that video. If you can get a laugh out of the situation and make other people laugh, then it’s a bonus.

‘I put it on my Facebook originally to cheer people up, then I messaged Denise Welch so she retweeted it.

‘It’s hard for people in entertainment because we’re hit hard, but you’ve just got to keep going.

‘We’re all stuck in the same situation and it’s always good to make people laugh. My husband takes it all in his stride.

‘I might have to do [the next one] on a Sunday – Sundays are good days. Not that any day is any different to another at the moment.

‘I had to put some make-up on the other day, I couldn’t bear to look at myself any more.

‘Jake was highly, highly embarrassed. He came in the bedroom going ‘what are you doing, mum?”

President Donald Trump said on Sunday that he would consider it a ‘win’ and a ‘very good job’ if he can manage to keep the death toll from coronavirus to between 100,000 and 200,000.

Trump said potentially 2.2 million people or more could have died had social distancing measures not been put in place.

The president announced on Sunday that the administration’s coronavirus task force’s 15-day plan to reduce the spread of the disease is being extended 30 days, which is weeks past his Easter deadline.
