Australians are ditching Christmas trees for PINEAPPLES

  • People choosing to decorate the smaller pineapple over full-size Christmas tree
  • Pineapples being adorned with mini baubles, lights and even pairs of sunglasses
  • Perfect for small apartments in Australia’s cities and a great table centre piece
  • Festive pineapple trees can be eaten, no stress of cleaning up dropped needles

The pineapple trend has made it’s way to Christmas, and Australian’s are getting on board.

It became popular when people started swapping pumpkins for pineapples at Halloween, and it appears that this holiday season is no different.

Hundreds of people are getting creative and feeling festive, and posting their pineapple trees to Instagram and Pinterest.

A simple search of #PineappleTree or #PineappleChristmas on Instagram brings up thousands of pictures.

Some people have chosen to hang miniature baubles and lights, whilst others give them sunglasses and have wrapped around tinsel.

It’s a genius way to decorate a ‘tree’ if you live in one of Australia’s small city apartments, and can’t fit a full-size pine.
