  • The unnamed woman was suspended by British Airways over the revealing clip
  • It is believed she may have been trying to sell the used tights using auction sites
  • Sources say the practice of selling used tights is common among cabin crews
  • The stewardess has now been suspended by furious BA bosses over the footage

The unnamed woman was believed to have been filming the clip in order to sell the items

A British Airways stewardess has been suspended by the airline after a video emerged of her stripping off her tights and sniffing them.

The clip, obtained by the Sunday Mirror, shows the uniform-clad hostess holding the tights and her shoes while saying: ‘I wish you could smell this.’

She goes on to perform a bizarre strip tease, saying: ‘Don’t look at how rough I look after the flight.

‘So you want me to smell my shoes and my tights? Well, first of all, I’ve got to take the tights off.’

The unnamed stewardess tears off her lanyard at one point and after taking off her tights says to the camera: ‘These I’ve been wearing all day, with no knickers, just for you.’

Before the clip ends the woman can be seen unbuttoning her blouse and saying: ‘I wish you were here to carry on unbuttoning my shirt. See you soon.’

British Airways managers have reportedly grounded the hostess after the video was made public.

It is believed the woman may have been using the video as a means of selling her airline-issue tights – a practice which is becoming increasingly common among cabin staff.

Adverts appearing on auction site eBay show stewardesses selling garments for as little as £10, being careful not to disclose which airline they fly with.

Despite the risks the staff post pictures of themselves on planes or wearing their uniform to prove the tights are the genuine article.

A BA spokesperson told MailOnline: ‘We hold our colleagues to very high standards and expect them to behave responsibly when they are representing the airline.

‘When this doesn’t happen, we will always take the appropriate action.’

The scandal is not the first to hit the airline which has been rocked by several this year alone.

In July this year a globetrotting senior cabin crew member was suspended by the airline after he was accused of selling sex for £800 between flights.

The manager was also allegedly moonlighting as a porn star while working for the airline.
