Emergency crews wrangle a cow on the loose in Brooklyn

A runaway cow sent a small child to the hospital after it knocked into the toddler’s stroller Tuesday morning in a bizarre chase with authorities.

The one-year-old girl arrived at a nearby hospital suffering from a black eye and an injury to her lip.

Police and emergency crews were able to successfully corral the loose animal, subduing it with tranquilizers, after it somehow found its way to Brooklyn’s Prospect Park.

‘I was with my son Kamren and this cow ran out of Prospect Park and ran over a baby girl,’ Alexis Small, 20, told The New York Daily News.

‘The mom was just crying and trying to calm her down. She was in such pain, I couldn’t even imagine.’

Authorities say that they began receiving reports of a cow running through the streets of South Slope near 17th street Tuesday morning.

The cow apparently escaped from from a slaughterhouse on Fourth Ave, The Daily News reported.

A post from the NYPD’s Special Ops Twitter account confirmed the incident was brought to a close.

‘(Emergency Service Units) have successfully corralled a loose cow in the vicinity of parade grounds in @NYPD70Pct.’

Earlier Tuesday, the NYPD also asked the public for help, joking on Twitter: ‘Hey, has anyone seen a cow?’

The cow sighting around Brooklyn is reminiscent of a similar incident that happened earlier this year.

On February 22, a bull took police for an hours long chase through Queens after it escaped from a nearby stockyard.

Police said the bovine escaped from Beaver Road slaughterhouse before taking cops on a three-hour chase through the New York neighborhood, NBC reported.
