Family have lost three children and unborn grandchild

A devastated family have lost three children and their unborn grandchild in the space of just there years. 

Keith and Elaine Llewellyn, from Caerau, Cardiff, have been married for 15 years and they have both lost a child in recent weeks. 

Mrs Llewellyn’s daughter Jessica Cowdery, 26, a dental nurse from Bridgend, South Wales, died suddenly last month.

Two weeks later Mr Llewellyn’s 25-year-old son Dai was found dead on December 8 in Bridgend.

The devastating news came just three years after Mrs Llewellyn’s daughter Amy died when she as 26.

Amy was three-and-a-half months pregnant when she died of natural causes, reports Wales Online.  

Mr Llewellyn, from Caerau, told Wales Online his son was ‘troubled’ and added: ‘When I found out the news with Dai I could not believe it. 

‘He loved life so much and any excuse to be happy and have a party he would take.

‘Because he was such a loner and if he could make fun then he would go for it. He loved life too much.’

He added: ‘I looked on Facebook and I saw all these broken hearts. I didn’t want to hear the words.

‘I drove straight to Bridgend as quick as I could, and it felt like two hours, and I saw the police tape sealed across the doors.

‘It was not the best way to find out about it, of course. Luckily there was no more about it on Facebook.’

The married couple have 13 grandchildren and Mr Llewellyn said it has ‘torn his wife apart’.

He described Jessica, who was a mother-of-one, as ‘fun loving’ and a ‘party animal’.  

Police confirmed both deaths are not being treated as suspicious. 

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help pay for funeral costs, which will be held in February.  

Family friend Alisha Harris, 28, from Bridgend, set up the page to help cover the funeral costs at ‘this awful time’ for the family. 

She said: ‘I’m Setting up the page to raise money at this awful time!! To cover funeral costs for Jessica’s family… nobody was ready to lose Jess, she was a happy bubbly outgoing young mum and we are all left heartbroken!

‘Even more of my heart breaks for Jessica’s mum losing her second daughter so young.’
