Harry styles trained with Jeff Fenech on Australian visit

He’s the UK heartthrob who knocked out audiences on his recent whistlestop Australian tour.

And it seems that Harry Styles is also the budding pugilist, with the One Direction star getting some  punching pointers from Australian boxing legend Jeff Fenech.

The Herald Sun reported that the Sign Of The Times hitmaker reached out to Jeff, with the pair training at the Park Hyatt Hotel during Harry’s Sydney visit.

The publication reported that Jeff, speaking to ARN radio, said  he was impressed with the way Harry handled himself in the ring, suggesting he would give fellow pop star Justin Bieber a run for his money.

‘He is capable,’ Jeff said. ‘He can get in the ring and he can hold his own. I’m sure he could give Justin Bieber a good belt.’

Jeff added that he was also dazzled by Harry’s work ethic in the ring.

‘He trained unbelievably well and I was surprised how good he punched,’ Jeff revealed. ‘We did 90 minutes and he loved it.’

While the National Boxing Hall Of Fame inductee did admit Harry’s music wasn’t his cup of tea, having the chance to train with the superstar was a pleasure.

‘I’m not big in the music stuff,’ he said. ‘I could not believe how hard he punched – he was very, very fit. It was an honour to meet him and work with him.’

Harry couldn’t have asked for a better teacher in his corner, with Jeff winning world titles in three weight divisions, while boasting a record of 33 fights and 29 wins – 21 by knockout.

While in Australia, Harry also made an appearance at the ARIA awards where he sent fans into a frenzy after giving Kiwi songstress two pecks on the cheek after he bet her for the best international artist award.

The display had the crowd of fans screaming and Twitter in a spin with the likes of: ‘Lorde be getting two kisses from Harry I am dead what a gentleman,’ and: ‘Yes, Harry Styles and Lorde hugged and kissed at the #ARIAs & we are shook.’

While Harry only gave Australian audiences two shows on his recent visit, he will be back in the country, playing four shows in April next year.
