This is the heart-stopping moment a brave lorry driver managed to foil a group of moped-riding thieves by wedging their lorry between them in their target.

The thugs were filmed by a bystander as they desperately tried to a free a chained-up moped to steal in West London on Friday.

But before they could could make off with the scooter the driver of a Brakes Food lorry manages to block their path with their vehicle.

Becoming seemingly frustrated with the obstruction, the crook trying to free the moped wanders around the front of the lorry and gestures to the others — including one wielding a hammer.
