Sam Wood dramatic before and after transformation photo

If you’ve ever scrolled through your Instagram feed and found yourself feeling a little mediocre after seeing countless fitness bloggers’ ‘transformation’ photos, then you’re not alone.

This is why former Australian Bachelor and personal trainer, Sam Wood, has taken to his own profile to reveal that the camera lies.

‘This is me, five seconds apart,’ the 37-year-old wrote on his Instagram page next to a photograph of himself before and bloated and after and ripped.

Former Bachelor and personal trainer, Sam Wood, posted a before and after photograph on his Instagram page this week – but taken just ‘five seconds apart’ (pictured before and after)

'Don't get caught up in what other people look like. Photos you see on Instagram and other social platforms are not a real representation of what people look like,' he wrote (pictured)

‘Don’t get caught up in what other people look like. Photos you see on Instagram and other social platforms are not a real representation of what people look like,’ he continued.

‘Lighting, posture, a different angle and every other trick in the book are used.’

While Sam said he is aware that if ‘it [the photo] inspires, then it can be a good thing.

‘[But] if it creates an unrealistic comparison or body of desire that effects your feeling of self then it is unhealthy.’

‘Be aware of others but not fixated,’ he concluded.

‘Spend that time and energy progressing every day and work on being the healthy, happy, best version of YOU!’.
