Like it or loathe it, the wellness revolution is in full swing – and it’s set to go nowhere in 2018.

In anticipation of the New Year, Pinterest have put together a list of the top wellness trends for 2018 – and there’s plenty to enjoy.

From vitamin C serums to taking yourself on a self-care staycation, here FEMAIL takes a look at the health, beauty, fitness and general wellness trends set to dominate the headlines over the course of the next 12 months.

For Pinterest, wellness goes beyond what you might think and expect:

‘Everything mind, body and soul is covered, and we’ve got two billion pins to prove it,’ the visual scrapbook service’s report stated.

With 61 per cent of pinners saying Pinterest is where they find ideas to be their best selves – whether that’s through meditation or a daily workout – the site said you can expect gut health to be at the forefront of people’s minds in 2018:

‘To deal with digestive issues, people are balancing their bacteria with more gut-friendly grub,’ the report stated – adding that searches for ‘gut health’ are up by 251 per cent.

Get your gut fix with a daily dose of prebiotics and probiotics. You can also try powders, such as those by the Australian-owned Beauty Chef brand.

Meanwhile, when it comes to beauty, vitamin C serums are up by a massive 3379 per cent - the vitamin is said to improve skin texture and quality, as well as brighten up the complexion

Next on their list is a clear signifier that people are taking an interest in weights over cardio.

Pinterest reported that strength training saves are up by 415 per cent.

Elsewhere, the clean movement continues to grow – with people searching for air purifiers and air purifying plants (270 per cent).

Meanwhile, when it comes to beauty, vitamin C serums are up by a massive 3379 per cent.

The vitamin is said to improve skin texture and quality, as well as brightening your complexion.
