The model made her acting debut in November as Reeva Steenkamp, the South African model murdered by paralympian boyfriend Oscar Pistorius, in TV film Oscar Pistorius: The Blade Runner Killer.
While the film was slammed by Steenkamp’s family, Toni revealed she was proud of her work and spoke about what it was like for her to portray Reeva for television audiences.
‘It is such a tragic and horrible story,’ she told Channel 24. ‘This was a young woman who simply fell in love with the wrong person and that it could happen to any woman including myself.’
‘From creating a non-fictional character, to feeling empathy and sorry for Reeva and her family. It’s still with me. I think about her life, her relationship and her family daily.’
