Uri Geller claims he made Theresa May Prime Minister using a spoon

Uri Geller claims he made Theresa May Prime Minister by taking her into his garage and pointing a spoon that once belonged to Winston Churchill at her

  • Geller said he performed the trick on Mrs May at his home in Sonning, Berkshire
  • Told GMB he used Churchill’s old spoon to bombard her with telepathic energy
  • Now plans to use his ‘powers’ to force Mrs May into calling a second referendum

Uri Geller today explained his theory that he got Theresa May into Number 10 by taking her into his garage and using a spoon that once belonged to Winston Churchill to ‘bombard’ her with telepathic energy.

He told Good Morning Britain: ‘I’ve known Theresa May for over 21 years, I lived in the same village as she still does, Sonning. She visited my home, I took her to my garage, I pointed at a spoon that belonged to Winston Churchill and bombarded her saying “she will be Prime Minister” and she laughed. Now she is.’

But the self-proclaimed psychic now plans to turn against the Prime Minister and use the ‘power of my mind’, and the help of millions of fellow Remainers, to mount a telepathic attack on Mrs May aimed at forcing her to hold a second referendum.

Uri Geller shared this image of Theresa May outside his garage in Sonning, Berkshire, in March. It is unclear when exactly they met

Geller admitted that many ‘sceptics’ didn’t believe in his powers but nonetheless described his plans to keep Britain within the EU.

‘This is my plan, to all of you, who are with me. I’m not a prophet, and I’m not a guru, but I believe that with the power of my mind, if we concentrate together with me at 11.11am and pm every morning… think the following “Theresa, bring us to a second vote, go to a second referendum”.’

Geller, who currently lives in Israel, said he has a British passport and ‘cares passionately’ about the country’s future.

‘My mother comes from Sigmund Freud’s family and 35 years ago she persuaded me to leave New York and come to England,’ he said. ‘I lived in the UK for longer than anywhere else.

‘I care passionately about the UK. If Brexit goes, if the deal is done, you know the recession, economic recession, the UK will be isolated from not only Europe but the entire world.’

Geller said he accepted his plan could fail because he is ‘just a human’ but urged other Remainers to give it a try.

‘I have the power, let’s do this, we don’t have time. Remember, there are more than five million signatures on the petition this morning. I love you.’

Geller rose to fame in the 1970s with an act based around his apparent psychic powers and telepathy skills, which were even tested by the CIA.

He is best known for his trademark spoon-bending trick.

He owns a 1976 Fleetwood Brougham Cadillac which he turned into an artwork by riveting 2,000 spoons to its body panels.

Many of the spoons formerly belonged to famous people, including Napoleon, John F. Kennedy, Elvis Presley, the Dalai Lama and Gandhi. Geller’s website describes the vehicle as ‘priceless’.
