1000lb Sisters: Amy Slaton told she’s pregnant after weight loss surgery and suspected constipation

Amy Slaton discovers she’s pregnant after being rushed to the emergency room with what she thought was constipation in 1000-lb Sisters.

Tonight’s episode of the Discovery+ show focuses on Amy, 33, from Kentucky, whose life has transformed dramatically since undergoing life-changing weight-loss surgery.

‘It’s been four months since I had weight-loss surgery, and so far I’ve lost 124-lbs,’ she says. ‘My weight right now is 282-lbs.’

Unfortunately for Tammy, Amy’s sister, she was unable to have surgery after failing to meet the weight target set for her by Dr Proctor.

‘Deciding to have the weight-loss surgery without Tammy wasn’t a hard decision, because I knew if she really loved me she wouldn’t be holding me back,’ Amy explains.

But while Amy fights to get healthier, there are still some lingering side effects from surgery that she has to deal with, including crippling constipation.

‘Babe, I’m hurting so bad. I don’t know, my back is really hurting and I can’t poop,’ a visibly pained Amy explains to Michael, her husband.

Wincing in agony, Amy stresses just how much trouble she has had since her surgery.

‘For a while now, I’ve been having trouble pooping. All I want to do is get some relief, I can’t take this no more,’ she explains. ‘I feel like Tammy, because my stomach is so big because I can’t take a s***!’

With no option but to seek medical attention, Michael drives Amy to the Emergency Room to provide her with some much needed relief.

‘I ain’t never had discomfort like this. These bumps are not helping,’ Amy says, close to tears as Michael drives her to the doctor’s office.

With the pain increasing, Amy admits that she’s fearful that something could be seriously wrong with her.

‘I’m worried something could be seriously wrong right now,’ she explains. ‘It’s really scary, because my surgery was only four months ago. My body hasn’t fully recovered yet.’

After three long hours, Amy eventually emerges from the ER, looking relieved and holding a piece of paper.

Climbing onto the passenger’s seat, Amy hands Michael the document.

‘I was at the doctor’s office for three hours straight. I finally got to poop, but there was also a little twist,’ Amy explains.

With a puzzled look, Michael turns to Amy, who reveals all.

‘I’m pregnant!’ she smiles, to which a shocked Michael exclaims: ‘Are you serious?!’

‘The doctor told me that he’ll have to take an x-ray to see how much you’re clogged up. In order for you to get an x-ray, you have to take a pregnancy test and all that,’ Amy reveals. ‘So I did the test, he came back in and he goes, ‘we can’t do the x-ray because you’re pregnant.’

Baffled by the results, Amy admits that she asked the doctor to check the results over four times!

‘I’m like, “what? You got the wrong person, dude.”‘

Excitedly, Amy decides to call her sister Tammy to share the good news.

‘Hey, guess what? You know how I just went to the ER, right? We’re pregnant,’ Amy says gleefully to a stunned Tammy. ‘I’m serious as a heart attack, I made him check four times. I thought he was lying to me.’

However, Tammy’s reaction is not what Amy had hoped for.

‘I wish he was lying to you,’ she says bluntly. ‘You know you’re not supposed to be pregnant right now. Don’t get me wrong, I want you to have a kid, but it’s too soon.’

Sharing her concerns, Tammy alludes to Dr Proctor’s post-surgery advice for Amy, where he suggested she gold off getting pregnant for at least two years.

‘I’m scared as hell because it was only four months ago I had my surgery, now I’m pregnant,’ Amy responds. ‘Oops…’
