1770 shark attack: Man ‘very seriously injured’ after shark savages swimmer’s leg at remote Queensland beach

A man has been ‘very seriously injured’ in a suspected shark attack at a remote beach 130km north of Bundaberg in central Queensland.

Ambulance service paramedics were called to 1770 beach, midway between Rockhampton and Hervey Bay, at 4pm on Friday after reports of an injured swimmer.

The man in the his 20s is believed to have suffered severe bites to his leg in the attack and is being transported to Bundaberg Hospital by road.
