I Dream of Jeannie star Barbara Eden is already slated for the much-anticipated Supernova Expo planned for Sydney and Perth later this month.

And the 1960s blonde bombshell will be joined by Get Smart legend Barbara Feldon, 86, at the annual science fiction convention.

Reflecting on her on-screen chemistry with co-star Don Adams to ABC Radio on Friday, Barbara said their rapport wasn’t so great when the cameras stopped rolling.

‘Don and I would be standing on our marks waiting for ‘Action’ and not talking to each other. We just didn’t have anything to say to each other,’ she said.

Despite their impersonal off-screen relationship, Barbara – who played Control Agent 99 – revealed Don would go on to be a friend for life.

‘That (the on-screen chemistry) was us … but not us, at the time – then later in life it actually became us,’ she joked.

In an interview with AAP in 2015, Barbara said her cult status from her Get Smart days was even noticeable at her favourite local deli in New York City.

‘I ordered something the other day to be delivered and I told the guy my name and that didn’t ring a bell even though I go in there all the time and he knows me,’ Feldon said from her New York City apartment.

Barbara told Today entertainment reporter Brooke Boney, 31, she was not expecting to get the role of Jeannie as producers were casting tall beauty pageant winners of a Middle Eastern background.

‘You know, Miss Turkey, Miss Israel, Miss Italy, Miss Greece. Then I thought, ‘Hmm, not for me’.’

She was then sent a script and landed the part.
