21-year-old claims she was ‘almost sold into sex slavery by her BEST FRIEND’

A 21-year-old claimed that she was ‘almost sold into sex slavery’ by her own best friend when she was just a teen – who tried to trick her by pretending she had been picked for a school exchange program.

Back in 2013, Ana Vianey Martínez Lugo, from Mexico, almost became a victim of human trafficking at the hands of her close pal – but was ultimately saved by her ‘sixth sense,’ and her mom.

Ana’s friend – whos name was kept hidden for privacy reasons – had told her that she had won the opportunity to take part in a student exchange in Spain, and that she was able to take two friends along.

Excited to be picked, Ana began filling out the documents so she could jet off halfway around the world with her friend, whom she had known for five years.

But when the then-teenager was sifting through the personal data form, there was one big giveaway that untangled the web of lies.

Ana noticed one of the questions asked, ‘Are you a virgin?’ which alarmed her – and prompted her to tell her mom.

The next day Ana’s mom phoned up the school that the two teenagers attended, and was stunned when she was told that the school exchange program didn’t even exist.

Ana’s mom then visited her best friend’s family home, where she unraveled her plan while looking through her computer.

It turns out, the girl’s boyfriend – who was older and had been with her for one-month – had allegedly threatened her to enlist young slaves or face harm to her family.

Years on from the betrayal, Ana has decided to share her close encounter with sex trafficking in an attempt to warn others.

‘I had no reason to not trust her,’ she recalled to Jam Press recently. ‘We had been best friends since we were eight years old.

‘She knew I would trust her. I felt like I was in a hole and that everything was a dream – that nothing that was happening was true, I couldn’t believe that my best friend had done that.

‘I loved her very much and our relationship was always good and I couldn’t understand why she would allow any harm to me.

‘When I read the question I thought it was a weird question to ask on a school form. I felt like something was wrong so I told my mom, who investigated.

‘The whole thing has taught me having a huge heart makes us blind to the immense evil that exists in the world.

‘No matter how much love we have for someone, never remove that thorn in your heart that makes you have sixth sense.

‘Because that little feeling in any situation can a save life. Despite what my friend did – it was wrong – I have tried to understand the situation from her point of view.

‘It can’t have been easy to be with someone who was threatening your life and your family, all while you’re a minor. That is a crime. I’m just grateful nothing happened.’

Ana opened up about the near-trafficking incident on TikTok where her video went viral, gaining more than six million views and leaving many social media users stunned.

‘You can not trust anyone,’ wrote one viewer in the comment section.

‘The importance of googling everything,’ added someone else.

A third TikToker said: ‘They tell you not to trust strangers, what they don’t tell you is that you shouldn’t trust those you’ve known all your life either.’

‘Literally no one can be trusted,’ read a fourth comment.

‘With friends like that you don’t need enemies,’ wrote another person.
