Wearing her birthday suit: Kathy Griffin pulled out all the stops for her 61st birthday by dancing topless from her balcony in an Instagram video posted Thursday
It wasn’t clear from her video if Kathy was totally nude or just topless, but she seemed to be in a secluded enough area by the ocean to get away with it.
She stood on her balcony facing the water and overlooking her pool, with the camera to her back.
She had her arms outstretched as she shimmied, and she capped off the short clip by pumping her fist in the air.
‘IT’S MY BIRTHDAY, BABY!’ she gushed in the caption. ’61 AND SEXXXXY.’

Cancer scare: In August, the Suddenly Susan star revealed that she had been diagnosed with stage one lung cancer before having ‘half’ of her left lung removed; seen in February 2020 in La
Despite her recent health struggles, Kathy has been staying positive and keeping the humor flowing for her fans.
In August, the Suddenly Susan star revealed that she had been diagnosed with stage one lung cancer.
‘I’ve got to tell you guys something. I have cancer,’ she shared on social media at the time. ‘I’m about to go into surgery to have half of my left lung removed. Yes, I have lung cancer even though I’ve never smoked!
‘The doctors are very optimistic as it is stage one and contained to my left lung. Hopefully no chemo or radiation after this and I should have normal function with my breathing. I should be up and running around as usual in a month or less,’ she added.
The stand-up star later said her surgery went well, even though she struggled with pain in the immediate aftermath.

‘To be honest, this cancer surgery was a little more than I had anticipated. Tonight will be my first night without any narcotic pain killers. Hello Tylenol, my new best friend!’ she wrote on social media.
Kathy shared that the hospital held bad associations for her.
‘The last time I was in a hospital was in June 2020 when I tried to take my own life and overdosed on prescription pills,’ she continued. ‘With over a year clean and drug free, I now know I can do this and anything I want without those devil pills. Y’know what? I fear drugs and addiction more than I fear cancer. So, I think I’ll be ok.’
Since the surgery, she has struggled with regaining her voice, which has sounded faint and hoarse in recent videos.
‘One thing that sucks about cancer, it’s hard to focus on anything else when one is experiencing shortness of breath, deep coughing, pain, extreme fatigue & in my case, vocal chord issues,’ she wrote on Instagram in September.
Candid: In September, Kathy admitted she has been struggling with her breathing and a cough, as well as a hoarse voice
She added: ‘One thing that doesn’t suck about cancer…how shameless I am when clapping back at people who dare to sass Ms. Kathy about anything with ‘Really, d***head??? TRY CANCER!’ I cannot get enough of it.’
The actress also consulted with her ‘celebrity voice doctor’ Sia in a humorous video about her vocal exercises.
‘Working on getting my voice back with a special visit from my celebrity voice doctor. Enjoy!’ she captioned a video from August in which she explained her difficult speaking clearly.
She said: ‘Hi you guys. Here’s an update. So my surgery has been I think, three weeks and my voice is still hoarse as you can tell, but my doctor has been giving me vocal exercises. And the weirdest thing happens which is when I sing my voice is fine, like watch …’
She then started singing along to Sia’s Chandelier in a perfect approximation of the original, only to pan the camera aside to reveal the real Sia was providing the vocals.
‘Did I mention my doctor is Sia?’ she added. ‘Very strict.’
Funny: Kathy joked in August that she had been working with her ‘celebrity voice doctor’ Sia to get her ‘voice back’
The reveal: She said she could sing without issue and tried a few bars of Sia’s Chandelier, only to turn the camera to reveal it was actually the pop star singing
