A banged up car with no windows, mirrors and dented front and sides was pulled over by police in Cheshire.

The wreck of a car was still being driven on the roads, despite looking like something out of a junkyard.

The old banger, which also had extensive damage to all areas of its bodywork, was once a red Rover but is now a patchwork of blue and yellow.

For obvious reasons, it was stopped by officers in Crewe, Cheshire.

It’s a wonder how this once red Rover was able to get around the road at all

A picture was posted on the Cheshire Police Taskforce Twitter account.

The driver of the battered vehicle, who has not been identified, was reported ‘for having no insurance and using a vehicle in a dangerous condition’, police confirmed.

The car was seized.

Maybe in its heyday it resembled something close to this vibrant yellow Metro which has a similar-styled shape and windows

Police wrote on Twitter: ‘Stopped in @PoliceCrewe. We kid you not.’

But  there have been worse, or at least equally battered, cars on the road.

One driver in Pakistan didn’t seem to be fussed about what their car looked like as they sped down the dual carriageway.

Shockingly the car was still on the road, even though its door were completely bashed in and its bumper had nearly fallen off.

Its back tyre had also almost completely deflated, and airbags had burst out of the roof and boot.

Let’s hope it’s now been taken off the road.
