Star Wars fan slam ‘cuddly’ Death Star pajamas with hearts

Star Wars fans are up in arms about a pair of pajamas that feature the Death Star and a lightsaber-wielding Darth Vader surrounded by pink hearts.

Dr. Jennifer Gunter, a Canadian obstetrician and gynecologist, tweeted her outrage over the Star Wars-themed pajamas she came across in the women’s section of Target on Monday.

‘These #StarWars pajamas for women are pure f**kery. A Death Star is designed to kill millions. The superlaser doesn’t f**king blow hearts,’ she wrote.

Serioulsy? Dr. Jennifer Gunter took to Twitter on Monday to share her outrage over the cutesy Star Wars pajamas she came across in the women’s department of Target

'Who is he blowing kisses to?' The Canadian obstetrician and gynecologist was disgusted that the pajamas featured purple Darth Vaders surrounded by hearts

The pajama top features a screen print of the Death Star blowing pastel hearts, while the bottoms are made up of a pattern of purple Darth Vaders surrounded by pink hearts.

‘I can’t even with purple Darth Vader and a pink f**king light saber. Who is he blowing kisses to?’ she wrote in the comments section of her post.

‘The weapon that killed and entire population of two planets is now the shape of a heart?’ she continued. ‘FFS this is an abhorrent. If the Death Star blows kisses there is no f**king #starwars.

Valid argument: In a series of tweets, Gunter argued there would be no Star Wars if the Death Star blew kisses

Gunter’s tweet was later shared on the Let Clothes Be Clothes Facebook page, where commenters shared her shock over the cutesy pajamas.

‘Happy New Year all! We start with something so bizarre it’s almost funny… Courtesy of #Target and #Disney where women get the cuddly version of the DEATH star!’ the account wrote.

Facebook users were quick to reply to the post about the heart-blowing Death Star, with a woman named Jules asking: ‘Does it run on unicorn feces and rainbows? Or does it just turn worlds into giant fluffy marshmallows?

Hezza Howard commented:’ If I was into Star Wars, I’d absolutely buy the men’s version. I actually thought they were kids pyjamas at first, why are women being patronised?’

'He is just misunderstood!' The Star Wars fans were also confused as to why evil Darth Vader was surrounded by hearts

The Star Wars fans were equally befuddled as to why Darth Vader was surrounded by hearts.

‘Oh that Darth Vader, he is just misunderstood and like totally dreamy!’ Helena Jidborg Alexander wrote.

‘Is the laser a rainbow instead?’ KellyAnn Palin asked.

Some people questioned if the pajamas were real, while others pointed out that the cutesy PJs completely miss the point of what the Star Wars franchise is about.

However, not everyone hated them.

‘They’re so weird I actually want them though…’ Serena Newman commented.

Daily Mail Online has reached out to Target and Disney for comment.
